Personally I think the very first thing you should do after the discovery flight if you choose to proceed is get your medical. You don't want to invest a good amount of time, money, and emotional attachment to being a pilot only to find out in the middle of ground school or even worse flight training you are medically disqualified from flying. Even benign seeming conditions and medications can torpedo your medical. Don't assume just because you seem overall healthy and have no major conditions you will pass the medical exam.

I'm at roughly the same point in my training. Should be fun to follow along and see how our roads to that private certificate wind their way to the finish line. I'm only flying a few hours on the weekends, no crazy accelerated schedule, so definitely a marathon.

Absolutely. I've been waiting to be signed off by our Chief Pilot who has a crazy schedule so I havent flown in 3 1/2 weeks. Hoping next week I'll be all cleared to solo and then it should speed up a bit

@@ClearedForLanding Such a bummer. when you're at a nice little plateau and then weather or schedule keeps you on the ground for a few weeks. Been there! I just switched up instructors right after my pre-solo checkout so I may have a few more flights with the new guy before long awaited solo.

Great video man keep it up! I’m currently on my third week of flight school with a part 141 school. I agree with everything you said here definitely finish ground school before starting if possible so you can focus on the controls and everything about to plane and maneuvers. I am stressing a bit about my written exam though I feel like I’m not studying right. Any tips that could help me out?

Are you doing well on the practice tests? In my experience the practice tests were more intense than the actual test. Actual test took about 10-15 minutes. I think I spent more time checking in and out. Talked to a few others who recently took it and they said the same thing. I'd say if you can consistently pass the practice exams you're good

@@ClearedForLanding I just recently started taking Kings free faa practice exam and I’m getting a passing score but not a score I would want, but if I continue to do that and study the questions I get wrong my score will surely go up!

Thanks for the videos. If you don't mind me asking how old are? I am 29 considering going back to flight school. I got about 20 hours 5 years ago and then couldn't keep up financially anymore so had to give it up unfortunately. Now it feels like it is too late for me.
