@@yolandalovesbooks honestly my biggest thing is just pretending that I’m not doing anything out of the ordinary lol “it’s normal for me to be sitting here talking to myself” and just not giving myself time to overthink it! And just pretend like you’re talking to one of your best friends instead of worrying about saying everything right and all of that because that’s what usually leads me to overthinking and stressing out more! I hope this makes sense🫶🏼

Definitely agree with this, don’t just read books that are hyped on Booktube or Bookstagram. Read what ticks your boxes and whatever gets you thinking “Yes I need to read this”. Definitely be a booktuber that stands out and does things their own way and doesn’t follow a trend. To get more attention to your channel definitely do the different tag videos as everyone does those but make your channel unique and make your own mark 👍🏼 Welcome to this amazing community

so true, many of the bootok books are terrible in the literary viewpoint. the vocabulary, the gracefulness, just does not exist! . a book need to have eloquent writing and an enticing plot. that is what the minimum for me is. let me just list some horrible let downs: beach read, happy place, the inheritance games, once upon a broken heart, rhe summer I turned pretty, magnolia parks, hauntjng Adeline, every single colleen hoover

Oooo I’ve been a reader since I was little, so it’s so exciting to see someone new getting into the hobby! One thing I would recommend is going slow. Quality over quantity. Just this year, I feel like I’ve forgotten about the books I read in January because I read so many. Also, I cannot leave this comment without recommending your read Percy Jackson. It’s my favorite series, and I think your like it especially if you love Harry Potter. (Oh and buy Harry Potter secondhand, we do not like jk Rowling). This is so fun! Good luck!

Welcome aboard, reader! :) I've been a bookworm for as long as I can remember... and then I had YEARS of not being able to read anything apart from university books (non-fiction, as I studied philosophy). Even after graduating I had a huge reading slump made worse by my anxiety and depressive episodes, and not being able to focus and read made me feel even worse. And then one day I just picked up a book again, and here I am once more! Point being, who cares when you discovered the joy of reading, what matters is that you have a hobby you enjoy :) Have fun!

A little life is one of the only books I have been deeply invested in and remember years later. Yes, it’s long and full of trauma BUT it’s beautifully written and I’ve never cared more about characters. I hope you enjoy it 😊

Local used bookstores are always great when it comes to buying books and saving money! Its a great way to put money into the community and showing books even more love by giving them a second home❤️ I've bought almost every book I own, except for a few, from my local used bookstore.

Yes!!! My thrift store sells all books for $1.50 or 3 for $3 and I have found so many good ones. I also love finding “little free libraries” I have found a lot of good ones there too

I’ve been reading for many years and my advice is this, whatever movies or shows you like to watch get books in that genre. So romance movies, then romance books, fantasy shows and movies then fantasy books etc. read what you would watch.

When I began my reading journey late last year, I bought soooooooooo many books and I am now feeling overwhelmed with the number of books I have. I’ve always had an interest in becoming a reader. Last year around June (I was nineteen) I bought my first book and I fell in love with it. I set a reading goal of five books for 2023 and I surpassed that by four books. Reading has completely changed my mind. At first I was scared of reading popular books, and not liking it, but I came to the conclusion that I am reading from myself, and not for others. and if I can make a recommendation, I will recommend the mindfck series. I absolutely ate that book up. I might be a little bit late to your journey but I can’t wait to see all of your videos!!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness GIRLLLL this is amazing!! I can't wait to see more reading videos from you! As a fellow reader I highly suggest "training" your paperbacks as it will help to not destroy the binding. Ahhhh!! This is so fun!! I've loved reading since I was a teenager, and seeing other people develop a love for it is the best 😊 Fourth Wing is SO GOOD! I read it a month ago and am still thinking about it! If you want more fantasy books, Once Upon a Broken Heart is amazing, and Caraval by the same author is really good as well. The Renegades series is also a good read and is more sci-fi fantasy/ romance, but it's YA so it's a fast read!

I love when the book has its own story❤ I can't afford to buy any of my actual TBR yet, so I'm building my collection through Little Free Libraries around the city areas I work in.❤ I love doing this because I find a variety of books! Things I would not have thought to look for or buy, older books.. its always a surprise with what's available. I love it. I've been collecting children's books from them for my kids for at least 5 years now, but rarely grab for myself because I didn't have the time to read, however I've loved it and loved books since I was a child. I hate that I lost that and put it on the back burner. I made a self care commitment to find time to read again, and I've been reading daily since January 19th, and I'm excited to collect books! I always wanted to have a library in my home when I grew up, and at 29, I'm getting back into reading, and I'm gonna make it happen.❤ For child me and for current me.

Enjoy...I love seeing new readers. I have always loved the journey you experience when reading. Go slow because you will find yourself in front of a stack of books to read. I love your excitement for rediscovering your love for reading. Make sure not to focus too much on buying what is hyped or popular. Focus on finding what you think you would like to read. Also if you are not opposed to like-new/used books, if you have a Goodwill or thrift stores, books are usually anywhere from .50-3.00 each and most in great condition. I follow several KZbinrs to find books I will like and I've found many books at thrift stores. Best of luck to you!

When I was little . My aunt would make us read especially when we did something wrong so I grew up not liking reading but somehow I became to like reading. I guess over the years I wanted to try something new and I enjoy it. I’m not an avid reader tho. I’m still trying to get there. I don’t have a daily routine either but I’m also trying to get there. It is a new habit to learn and get into and enjoy it! It’s relaxing too

I'm currently reading the shatter me series (The novels and novellas which are 11 books) and I swear it is worth the hype! I have read many other books and series (Including the Twisted Love series) and not many of them lived up to the hype. But Shatter Me series is a game changer! Girl, YOU WILL LOVE IT! Aaron Warner is SO INCREDIBLY PERFECT and Juliette is amazing! I'm so excited for you to read it! The first book is a bit slow, yes, but I promise it gets so much better.

@@HalJonesI’ve never read it, but I think you shouldn’t wait, just in case you don’t like it. If you like it you’ll probably memorize everything by the time the second book comes out, but if you don’t like it, you waited for a book that you didn’t like.

I also recommend “shatter me” it’s also a series but I’ve only read the first book and loved it, currently reading the second one.
