Dr. Kreeft has the most affable, cordial and amiable demeanor that I've ever seen in a high intellectual. I remember this one video I watched in which someone mispronounced Dr. Kreeft's name and he didn't even correct the person but answered the question straight away! So much humility.

We're so blessed in Catholicism to get the best and brightest that Protestantism ever produced: Cardinal John Henry Newman, G.K. Chesterton, Cardinal Avery Dulles, Fr. Richard John Neuhaus, Dr. Peter Kreeft, Dietrich Von Hildebrand, Dr. Taylor Marshall, Thomas Merton (Celebrated Trappist Monk), Bishop John Lipscomb, Bishop Jeffrey Steenson, Steve Ray, Dr. Robert Sungenis, Ulf Ekman (Swedish Founder of Word of Faith Evangelical Society), Dr. Scott Hahn (Valedictorian Gordon Conwell Seminary), Gerry Matatics, Francis Beckwith (President Evangelical Society), Tim Staples, Deacon Alex Jones, Norva McCorvey, and Abbey Johnson!

It took more than a thousand years for that doctrine to be created....so the Pope of Vatican II is not infallible.....er doesn't that contradict something here.....Kreeft would fall in with the apostates then if you have not listened to his "reasons to be protestant and catholic talk".

If course when we go looking for free will it is hard to find. The more we explore human behavior, the more we see the behavior of the universe it can't be found. You say we have minds thoughts ideas that distinguishes us from all that. We did not choose to be born or to grow old and die. You did not choose your body, what your skills are. To have a learning disability or to have an IQ of 150. Free will it's so obvious! Try this experiment. Try to observe your thoughts. Just that nothing more. Like a cat watching a mouse hole wait for your next thought. Where did it come from? Did you choose it or did it just arise. If you are adventurous try not to think. Can we choose not to think of pink elephants with yellow polka dots when someone says it? Why do good catholic families try so hard to raise good Catholic children? Are they against your free choice , God's gift to reject God? Just a thought passing through!

I have been reading the conversation between you and France Filiault and I need to ask you a question concerning the RCC and it's view on the OT sacrifices. I just want to make sure that I got the correct understanding. In one of your comments did you write that the catholic church believes that Christ's sacrifice wasn't complete bcuz there was no OT priest present at His crucifixion to offer Jesus as a sacrifice to the Father.

bornagainsaint1 Did you ever wonder why after the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD, the Jews quit doing blood sacrifices. Why they not built a new smaller temple and continue the practice? After all this was the center of what they believed yet it stopped and Jews never did it again? Why?

In my experience, it is possible to overcome someone's mistrust and / or fear. It is by behaving in what is for them a safe way. I know two women who have been abused by men. Both of them feared men in general. I gained their trust by giving them power over my interaction with them. For example: I would ask them permission to sit at a table with them, even though the table was in a canteen. Over time, this profoundly changed how they saw me.

Loved this lecture for a lot of reasons. Some questions: The questioner at 1:06:39 asked for practical advice for "a sick person". Is it possible he was asking Dr. Kreeft to say they should go to a Catholic priest for confession? Why isn't that as simple of practical advice as jumping into a lifeboat if the ship was sinking? Was Dr. Kreeft trying to avoid giving this advice? And about the saint that St. Philip Neri encountered during his preaching, I was waiting to hear Dr. Kreeft finish the story and say that woman converted to Catholicism. Didn't this happen?

I suppose that it would be possible to see sanctity as an abstraction, in the same way that numbers are abstractions. It might be possible to determine the correct behaviour in a pre-defined situation, but the realities and uncertainties of life make it impossible to always choose that behaviour. As a result, human perfection is conceivable, but not achievable.

The natural mind thinks Imagination isn't God in them, good and evil repeat if you judge. Ecclesiastes 3:15: “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.” The “natural man” cannot grasp that, for to him reality is based only on the evidence of the senses. The man of reason could justify the verse’s end, saying if it has any meaning then the writer must mean recurrence. The sun comes every day and the moon completes its cycle and the seasons come and go. If we took a picture of the universe today, the scientists can compute how long it will take to return to this point in the picture. So the intellectual man could justify the verse; but that is not what is meant, for it is addressed not to the man of reason or the man of sense, but to the man of Imagination. What is it all about? “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been, and God seeks what has been driven away.”

Wow. I admit that I didn't watch this since I had watched his whole speech on his "conversion" testimony from Reformed theology to Catholcism. That was plenty enoough to discern that his view of theology and the catholic faith is NOT in any way based on actual knowledge of Biblical doctrine - or even Catholic dogma - but rather his FEELINGS. That vidio did not allow for comments, and so I must make them here. There was absolutely no reference to Biblical truth for his conversion. Nowhere did he address numerous SIGNIFICANT Roman Catholic dogma differences from Biblical Truth (or protestant doctrine.) Also, I noted with a little research, that he has NO theological training since none of his degrees are of any theological content. This man's views or theological conclusions on the catholic/protestant doctrine or value should not be given ANY weight by anyone who is interested in actual Biblical church TRUTH.
@bobaphat3676

lol, you're the walking definition of someone who talks a lot but says nothing of substance. "Biblical Truth" - what do you know about this to discredit Dr. Kreeft ? Just because there is no "Biblical Truth" for his conversion (according to you), does this then mean his conversion is based on feelings ? You can't be serious lol You're starting with the presupposition that Catholics don't have "biblical truth" lol! Imagine of the arrogance of this statement. Unbelievable. That is why Protestantism is failing because of this kind of narrow mindedness.

The 12 saints and saving the world from destruction is not acurate. Mr. Kreeft is very knowledable; very impressive to the ego. Thank you for reminding me my ego is well and healthy. If you noticed my bad spelling that is the ego in you! That is a sin, the sin is missing the point. If evil exists, I believe is does relative to my limited understanding and its source is the ego. I do not believe that having a strong will is the amswer. That evil inclination is stronger than the undeveloped spiritual me. I think you have to be smarter and not stronger. Like taking a headach pill for a headach, having a powerful will is the short long way the only way is the long short way and that takes hard work like anything worthwhile it is the ability to concertrate the mind on study, worship & meditation. Writing this is again me sinning as the time would be better spent on study and deep contenplation. I understand that I do not yet understand the level of my ignorance.

The evil comes from people who refuse to relinquish or surrender to discipline their natural "base weaknesses." Thats where evil originates from. Human wealnesses all so evidently revealed in the Bible, and by the Buddha. But people have taken a these teachings and built religions around them. Not even taking the time to search the texts to discern for themselves. Instead they practice life caught up in rituals and traditions of their respective societies. Totaly misrepresenting the Wisdom they have been given. The Bible is the "revelation of the human condition and its interaction with the world at large." It is all their, good actions, bad actions. The evidence of human weaknesses, and the promise and hope of strength to overcome those weaknesses. The "discernments" gained of the Bible, the Four Noble Truths, Eightfold Paths, ALL summed up in the teachings of YESHUA combined should ultimately create strong disciplined minds. BUT ONLY DIRECT YOUR PRAYERS TO YEHOVAH THE SUPREME UNIVERSAL ORIGIN OF ALL LIFE. SAVE YOURSEL, SAVE OTHERS, SAVE THE EARTH TOO. FROM UNDISCIPLINED SELFISH WEAK PEOPLE AND THEIR DESTRUCTIVE ACTIONS AGAINST ORIGINAL CREATED NATURE.

Many good points abhorrent "not my problem attitude", you are gay? Not my problem, become a monk or something doesn't matter that your decision to do so is merely externally imposed and not due to an Internal desire for monasticism, or dunno try to deny the simple reality that you are what you are, yes be a realist on everything exept that... And I am sure a lot of people will give me very "not my problem" criticisms to this comment... Or ignore it as they simply ignore those that that "not my problem" mental filter applies. He who is without sin may throw the first stone, go stone some abortionists or ban some law that in your opinion are unholy, surely you aren't an abhorrent amalgamation of pride wrath and hypocrisy. I'll quote a priest that here in Italy has divided the believers, a freedomfighter, someone that fought the nazis with his own two hands and that continued to fight against injustice all his life, for someone he is the unrecognized st. Francis of today, to other a communist demon, don't give me your opinion on the matter I don't give a damn "I am on the side of the poor the undesirable of this planet, the excluded that roam the genoese nights, and I don't just immediately give them an eucharist and try to convert them, I prefer the streets and I say to them: do you want to chat a bit with me" "Savonarola was a rebel, as rebels are the words of the Gospel, and I cannot help but notice that the sinners, prostitutes and dispossessed of these "evangelical splinters" are the tramps, the stragglers, the trans, the homeless and the without rights of today, those "dogs in church", unfortunate and unwelcome, but favored by the Lord, which the society of facade respectability has forgotten, idolizing money and power." "Tell me who you exclude and I'll tell you who you really are" Culture this and culture that, evil gays here and evil gays there, how the hell do you have time to look at the speck in your Brother eye and stone him for his sins when you should be worrying about the plank that is in yours and you should be occupied in loving him and your God unconditionably. You are lying when you say that you want a timeless church, you want a very specific church from a very specific timeframe, because you care more for the Institution and it's traditions than your own God. Just as you are lying when you say you are oppressed, and are not interested in politics, cause it's not you that Is beated in the streets and you are pretty much well placed in the halls of Power, give unto Caesar what's is Caesar my ass, you pretend you have the right to ban things because they are in you opinion against God, so much for free will I suppose, God himself didn't impose himself on mankind but It seems like you can do It just fine. Not to mention that it seems that you care only for the right of the baby to be Born, which yes is sacrosanct, but you don't give a damn on what shall happen to it once it's Born, cause once it's out of there it falls into the "Not my problem" folder, or what happened before such as why the mother got where she got. Instead of giving God 's Mercy to the sinners of this world, and we are all sinners, you think you can exclude, hate, dismiss, impose, fuck off you dirty pharisees

OK, so you're gay and I'm an alcoholic. Encouraging me to drink by saying we're all sinners is not being merciful to me. Encouraging sodomy is not being merciful to you. Check your own hypocrisy.

Saints are not appointed by a Pope. Saints are those who follow Christ and are born again. Catholics! Reject the lies and read your Bible. Learn for yourselves what the Bible has to say and ask your priests lots of questions.

Sorry, Catholics do not worship the same God as the Muslims. Our God is pure love and does not teach errors.

At very least we see the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (and Ishmael) though a less obstructed lens and in His full Trinitarian nature.

+al meggs They are sciences. They are new, and they must depend on correlation, because it is unethical to take people and societies apart as we would were they nonhuman, but they depend on replicability and falsifiablity of research results just as much as the other sciences. They deal with something very complex, the human 'I', and must do so from the inside of that 'I', which makes their job very difficult, but they are sciences.

They are it is thanks to phsychology and socialiology that people like me who struggle with mental illnesses can be helped and not be labeled as demonic because of our mental illness .Be careful your comment is insenitive.

There are more good Priests then bad. You can not throw out the Catholic Faith because of the sins of a few. Also, there are more sex abusers that our married men who have failed in their positions in life. It is a moral failure in them not the Faith.
