I miss these games so much. I'm actually playing 2008 Ds on my emulator. Imo, 2007 had the best graphics, 2009 / 2010 had the best storylines; I wish they never stoppedaling these

started watching 5D's recently and gotta say, it's a shame i refused to watched it way back in the day because the duels on motorcycles thing. the show is really good (for yugioh standards) , the animation was pretty good, the races are dynamic and have really cool shots that are far more entertaining than the "you didn't saw my backrow card!" shitty duels.

honestly, 5ds was exceptional for yugioh standards. Prolly the first time I actually cared for the storytelling of a yugioh show..

Maybe it's just me, but 5ds rly was subtely different from what you would normally expect from a yugioh show which is this fun story where you have this kind mc just wanting to have fun with their friends and foes playing yugioh occasionally in a privileged school or tournament setting, and then the usual world ending arc through children's card game just to spice things up a bit and possibly develop the main characters. but 5ds on the other hand started the show with the main characters being placed in discrimination and poverty. The mc was still kind ofc, but he was also stoic and calm showing that he's not some kid that's living in a fantasy of dueling and having fun with friends everyday yadda yadda. He has lived and survived through that huge junk of a place, fighting against gangs and running away from the police that heavily discriminates against them and he's constantly helping others to have an easier life in there. Not to mention his initial goal wasn't about being the best or whatever either, he just wanted to take something back that was stolen from him. Ofc it was still a yugioh show so it was all toned down cause its still a kids show, but that's just what I'm saying, atleast compared to its predecessors which is the original yugioh and gx, 5ds was fundamentally different, and that's like just from the 1st episode... also didn't meant it to be this long lol

Judgment was considered a late game card back when outside of stall decks so it was more of a card you used with low LP to prevent yourself from dying rather than take control of a duel In hindsight you could argue how correct it is but there's validity in both arguments I think

I started playing this game a few months ago. The first structure deck I got was the Machina one so I made a Machina Gadget deck with some earth tuners thrown in because I got Naturia Beast in a pack. I had a really easy time.

NO its doesn't, there have been multiple people who have proven all the DS games change their cards based on the game state. Simply put a face down card in hand or field can become any card in that players deck UNLESS you have a card that can reveal it. E.g. if you see their hand, it decides the cards, then. This is also why AI tag partners suck, as you always see their cards so they don't cheat. However there use to be hacks that allow you to control the AI tag partner. What is prob doable on an EMU...

Fun fact, this game taught me how Scrap Iron Scarecrow worked. My friends and I used to play at a pool with a lifeguard much older than us who told us scrapiron would just flip up again as soon as it flipped back down with its own effect. When I saw how it worked in this game, I realized it was wrong and put an end to that (but we still lost because our decks sucked lmaoo).

I have noticed this in the older yugioh games, that when a bot knows you know what cards he has he doesnt want to play them. For example I know the bot drew Monster Reborn from cyber jar effect, and he wont use it, same for some monsters as well.
