Nat, your description of becoming more introverted is basically what it's like for many adults going from their young 20's to their later 20's and into their 30's. At some point you say to your SO or think to yourself "I'm at home, on a Friday night, watching a movie by myself, and getting ready for bed at 9:30PM.". We all do it. :)

Some of that comes from growing up and just becoming more tired and or getting beat down by the tribulations of life and getting fed up with people, and some of it is also probably covid, keeping everyone inside for ages and people adapting then having trouble going back the other way.

I kinda feel like you have to be born an introvert to be one because for example: a person who has been loud it’s entire life doesn’t become quite all of a sudden. It’s all natural when it comes to being introverted.

I've always been more introverted. I can socialize with friends and attend functions and events that I need to and be fine during them. But, it zaps me. I have no energy at the end of them. Especially when it's one thing after another. Taking time for myself during a busy holiday or vacation destination is paramount, or I am miserable after returning and going immediately back to regular schedule. So I totally get it! It looks like you had an amazing time though. Egypt looks absolutely beautiful. It's never really been on my bucket list, but your vlog has got me thinking about it. Thanks for sharing it with us!

This really made me think of what I and many of my friends have been going through during the pandemic. It's very similar, but I don't think it's that we are now introverted. I know I was extroverted before, and for the most part, I still am. But I think this has taught all of us not only to deal with being alone and inside, but it taught us to appreciate it too. I didn't like being at home all day every day before, and I still would prefer to go out, but now I think I don't mind it like I used to. I know how to enjoy it now. And maybe that's why some people feel like they're introverted now, because it's this new way to spend their time, and because it's new it's what you want to do more. At least for now. I hope I said this in a way that made sense.

I used to be a mix of intro and extrovertness, but the pandemic has DEFINITELY made me an introvert. I get so much anxiety now just going out, but on the flip side I get FOMO if I stay at home all day... It's complicated 😅. With Spring upon us and COVID becoming more manageable I hope to get my inner extrovert out a little more.
@MrDuDeTheFirst2 жыл бұрын
I've heard people saying they are both intro- and extroverted before but i think it's more like a "spectrum" I don't think anybody is a full-blown intro- or extrovert. I've always been on the introverted side but i have a couple of groups of friends i enjoy to hang out with regularly. I also think it's a bit more deeply engrained in our personality's and won't shift as easy, sure some aspects may be more pronounced in certain situations and at certain times but some research suggests that the baseline of how introverted someone is can be seen as early as infancy. (like, most cry-babies are introverts because they get overwelmed more quickly.)

The footage you recorded of your boat trip and hieroglyphs was breath-taking, especially that shot of you by the window 5:17. As long as you are comfortable with what you're sharing with us, there's no bad way to vlog. Don't worry about feeling like you're showing off, we're all here because we love what you share! I super enjoyed this video Nat! It was so much fun watching your experience out in Egypt. I can relate with you on being an introverted extrovert. I've been this way for ages and ages. It isn't something that I'm bothered by or that I let bother me when others complain. It's just how I am! xD There are days when I LOVE going out and seeing the world. Days where nothing improves my mood more than going out in public and being around others. There's also the opposite and that takes up a majority of my days. Days where I'm strictly avoiding going out or being in public. When I'm feeling uncomfortable if I'm to be seen. Not in a negative or I feel bad for looking any particular way - just I"m not wanting to be around other people. I used to have a dog named Bart that I took for walks daily. I loved him to pieces! Sadly, he's no longer with me and now I'm no longer outside everyday as a result. One day I do plan on rescuing another doggo friend but until then I'll likely remain alone. Not a huge deal! Just how it goes with me. Anyway though! When I had Bart I was outside daily taking him for walks. I was in a way excited to be out there with him. He really did brighten my days! I loved this video Nat and I'm super looking forward to more like it. Personal blogs are a lot of fun for me to watch and comment on.

I have always been an introvert, never had any friends, never been in a relationship, I am broke and have many mental and physical issues, so I guess I am that way because I kind of have to be that way. And when I am depressed and having a panic attack and then a rage attack and hitting myself I don't want anyone to see that. I just broke my phone a few minutes ago, it was a shitty ass old phone don't worry, and I have no money to get a new one, just wanted to feel more isolated I guess. Anyways enough of my whiny crap. It was weird for me to see people on the news through the pandemic, because I can't relate, meaning like they are upset so many places are closed and they had to stay home for so long or whatever. I was like I can't feel anything for you for that because that is what it is like for me every day for the last 20 years. I never go anywhere or do anything so every single place around could be open or closed all the time and I would have no clue. I get it though, we all have our routines, and when those get all fucked up it can make us go crazy.

Then for work I got to be in Amsterdam for 2 weeks and I got to tour Europe for 2 more. And for another job I got to spend like 4 weeks in Cape Town, which was fricken brilliant. Thanks to my teammates there for letting me tag along and driving me around to see stuff there, it was amazing. With that a few Hawaii trips, a DC trip, I feel like I've seen enough of the world and in my mid 40s I've done plenty of stuff. Maybe sometime in the future I'll do another domestic US trip, but I've honestly seen most of the US that I do want to see.

COVID made me realize I’m so much more an introvert than I thought. I use to go out and see friends so often but somehow, in the past 2 years, just texting them, video calling them and then just putting an end to the conversation when I felt like it was more than enough. My wife is out of the house quite often either for work or to see friends and she felt it was unbalanced so she told me to go spend the night at a friend’s place. To be honest, it’s not a fun prospect for me. I’ll enjoy it, but after a while, I’ll just want to close myself in my bubble. Having her go out and having the house to myself after putting the kid to bed is much more interesting to me than spending the evening at a friend’s.

If you had been raised in my family, you might not have made it out of infancy. My mother was raised on a Farm in North Dakota and wheat was probably the most prominent crop. My grandmother, whom I truly loved, was in the kitchen baking continuously. It was how she expressed her love. We had fresh bread and rolls all the time. I think she might have been hurt emotionally when her grandchildren preferred store bought cereal over her pancakes and French toast. We didn't know better we were raised by commercials.

There are marks of machining in the quarry and "scientists" have been trying to prove that Ancient Egyptians made those marks. But since my local nightlife locations re-opened and shows started I feel alive again when at them and after each one. It was definitely a bit weird at first going out again, but eventually it got back to being my normal self. Are there times I just want to do nothing and chill at home as am ambivert, of course. But If there's a artist I want to see I'll for sure be there.
