I notice they make beds on "easy mode". No walls in inconvenient places, no annoying bedside tables, no cat to keep removing from the bed, while making it. And most crucially, not a King Sized bed where the dooner/duvet/comforter has nearly - but not quite, the same length as width, so you have to put it in, and take it out multiple times asking "have I put that in the wrong way around?" over and over again. Then also, no wife to come in at the end and say "not those blue sheets, the other blue sheets - and the pillow cases don't match" Maybe having all that would be the "cross country" equivalent of this sport.

The craftsmanship, you're so right! If only the duvet part would go that smoothly at my house... ! I ended up watching this video 3 times. The 2nd time was to watch the other guy. And The 3rd time was to scan the straight faced audience! They're pretty Hilarious all by themselves! Clearly, they're all parents, aunts, and uncles of the contenders. I mean, WHO ELSE would even show up for such an event!! Then my mind wandered into what it must have been like this past year in the homes of these Bedroom Olympians!! Imagine watching your kid torture themself while trying to perfect the "Speed Duvet Event" ... And HOW MANY participants dropped out as the months of making, and unmaking the bed, forever folding, and unfolding the sheets dragged on, and on!?? Aaaauuugggg - THE MADNESS OF IT ALL !!!! But even WORSE - The time spent for those who refuse to give up! Those who run full steam ahead on sheer determination to catch that illusion of perfection!! THEY NEVER GIVE UP! Practicing, practicing, practicing!! First, the clenching of the jaw shows up. Eventually, you, and only you notice the tears of that relentless determination silently runs down their little face. Never ending, they just keep pushing themselves to go just a little bit faster... Do it one more time... And one more time after that... Over and over, and over again, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again...
