My grandparents are buried in St Gregorys graveyard. My great aunt lived on Sussex Street and my grandmother lived on Harbour Rise before her passing. Love Bedale so many memories growing up.

Was an army apprentice and roommate Bruce Mellor made more noise about Bedale than the rest of us supporting our hometowns or cities put together.

I just love this beautiful place. I would visit there as often as time allows. I lived in in Garden Cottage, Burrill just a few miles away. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful part of the country. Used to live at Grange Road in the 70's, some fantastic memories of growing up there - great childhood. I went to Bedale CE Primary School which was quite close to Grange Road as far as I can recall - can remember some of my teachers there like it was yesterday - Mrs McClelland for one, and a Mrs Mitchell too.

Looks like a Lovely place to live, amazed at public Restrooms here in NY one must beg restaurants or shops for toilet... uncivilized indeed

I seem to remember a "Travelling Shop" mobile grocery outlet being parked up on the Main Street every week as well, again this is going back a good few years! My parents always remind me of an embarrassing story from my childhood, when they took me to the local shop on the main street - ran by a Mr Price I think? Anyway, one day Mr Price was chasing some flies out of his shop, commenting "Damn Flies!" or something like that. I must've remembered this as next time my parents took me in there, I piped up - in front of a packed shop - "Have you got any of those flies here today Mr Price?".... Poor guy - and my parents - were mortified I've been told!

Is that a new Indian restaurant in Bedale?? Not been to Bedale in a few years now but the last time I went with my family we all had a meal at a small Indian place but it was so cramped it ruined our experience. Good to see new restaurants coming to Bedale though hopefully not as cramped as the one we went to. Could do with a decent steak house too.
