I'm glad you stopped here. I never got to see this memorial.First I've ever known to be close to realistic as you can get. RIP Veterans.

My dad was 28 (9-10 yrs older than the others in the 82nd) and the only guy in his unit who was held back on D-day because he was the only guy who had a wife and child. He was steaming mad. He was flown out on the 2nd wave. I am thankful. "Saving Private Ryan" really brings it all to your senses, but to stand in the middle of a 3D setting like this memorial is just an incredibly strong way to make generations realize what our boys did for our freedom to be preserved.

We have watched a lot documentaries on Netflix and Amazon Prime. We use them for a starting point for Homeschool Lessons. However we require our girls to do a more research from the girls. They than either write a paper or give an oral presentation to us. Great video! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to share this D Day Memorial with us. On June 6, 1944 America and Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy to free and help give freedom to people who suffered in ways most truly can not grasp.

Thank you for visiting my hometown. On D-Day, nineteen of my town's native sons perished. In 1944 the population of Bedford was only around 3,000 people. Thus, making Bedford's loss the largest per capita of any town in the United States. If you were to drive onto Main Street, you'll find signs lining the way with photos of each person who died so heroically.

It was so cool to see you visiting the town where I was born Dave! (Your notes above says North Carolina - but it's in Virginia). Bedford lost the most men 'per capita' on D-Day, that's why the memorial is there. No one in our family lives in Bedford any more and the last time I stopped in was 20 years ago when they were finishing up the memorial, makes me want to visit again! Did you notice the twin 'Peaks of Otter' mountains ... that would be a 'van trip' for sure but worth a visit! South of the visitor's center is Smith Mountain Lake State Park, it's dog friendly and Bella would love it!

Dave, I particularly enjoyed today's tour of the WWII Memorial. You showed it and narrated it well.. gave us time to enjoy it in silence sometimes. I live in East TN now (I'm from your neck of the woods in PA) but I can no longer travel so I enjoy when you show me places I can't see on my own. You love railroads as do I - I told you that long ago.. Keep up the good work. Enjoy your travels.

Good evening Dave,Bella, and Betty!!! There’s no better way to witness history than to take yourself back to that particular time and live history so you could get a feel of how things in that time really were. Great video and I know Bella enjoyed herself too. Hope you’ll be able to visit eastern NC as I’d really like to meet you,Bella and Betty!! I really enjoy watching your videos of your life on the road in Betty. There are places I think you’d like visiting in eastern NC and a campground called Green Acres which is about 40 miles from my house and I know the owners very well as they’re family owned.- This place has something for everyone year round as Me & my family have camped there a lot over the years. Can I send that link to that campground to your email so you’ll be able to check things out. Excuse my lengthy comment and looking forward to seeing what new exciting adventures await you on the road ahead. Be safe and LOVE ❤️ to my favorite girl Bella!! 🙂🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍👍

Hey Dave I really enjoy following along with you. I have a 94 Winnebago Brave sitting in Kentucky that I am wanting to drive down to South Florida where I live now but for the five years that I have owned it when living in Kentucky I never drove it over a hundred miles away so I have been a little reluctant to get up to get it. Watching you on these trips gives me a little more confidence to get everything together and make about a 4-day trip down to South Florida I figure around 250 miles a day will be plenty hopefully nothing will go wrong. Keep on rollin and I'll keep watching thanks
