My name is Dave and I travel with my dog Bella in a 1987 Class A Motorhome. My channel is about full time RV Living in an older RV while keeping the wheels rolling on a budget. I do the repairs, updates and upgrades myself. I’ve become my own RV Mechanic/Medic! I seek boondocking opportunities every chance I can and power the RV with 500 watts of solar and approximately 500 amp hours of batteries. RV Resorts are just not our style!

As a mechanic I am just knowledgeable enough to not be taken advantage of by unscrupulous actual mechanics. You are much more competent than I. I have done fairly deep repairs in decades past but you really take it all on and deserve a lot of credit for your skills.

I am surprised how many times you had to give this answer, Rear axle bearing are lubricated in an oil bath supplied by the differential lube oil and don't require grease. Dave is a mechanical engineer and he surely knows what he is doing. Great job Dave! I know nothing about this stuff but not at all surprised that you know. Its just so interesting to watch you do your magic and beautiful Bella was a great help.

Another fantastic video, if you are making these repairs single handed and video recording single handed you are truly skilled at both. I think that you are the only youtube mechanic that I can truly relate to. No shop, no lift, no air tools and working off the ground in your yard with basic tools, jacks, and blocks of wood. To top it off you are working on a dual wheeled rear end of a motor home. You truly are a man of spirit and will that matches mine. I am smiling once again and motivated to work on my travel trailer to get it ready for Quartzsite. Thanks for making my afternoon!!

Hey, Dave the bearings sounded loose. Your luck you did not have a fire in the back axles. Timken has kits seal and bearings. I would change the hardware too, a scotchbright pad on the inside drum. I carry extra kits on seals and bearings. I think the worst is installing the springs top one sucks. I have been testing out a drive staft temp warning. Had a 2002 F150 that back wheels would heat up we changed everything. By share luck found the problem parking brake cable would kink the brake line making drive side brakes ingage. Good luck
