*UPDATE 30/04/2022* - This machine has now vanished completely from this arcade! :( It wasn't in all that playable condition in 2021. I was expecting a new racing game to replace it, but no! Six more ticket redemption carnival games now sit in its place. In fact, despite this arcade being so big, it has no racing games at all now! :/ Very sad times!!!

As there is still is quite a lot of great potentially for these machines, and they hold up better than nearly all modern arcade racers IMO! :) Sadly I heard differently, and apparently another arcade took this for spare parts to fix one they already have? I cannot 100% confirm which one is true, but it's still such a shame to see this gone given I visit this place quite frequently! :(

The fondest memory I had with this game is getting AA rank on heart attack mode, in the little arcade of a bowling alley I took a field trip to in middle school. I was surrounded by a bunch of other kids (my classmates), some cheering me on, some trying to mess me up. When I crossed that finish line, a whole eruption of screams went off behind me. No one else even came close to the finish line, so it was a pretty big deal at the time! I remember walking back to my bowling lane, head held high, feeling like the king of the world.

Yeah! Sadly I wasn't born earlier enough to experience those days! 😢 However I do totally agree with you there! That being said, I'm loving playing CTR Nitro-Fueled at home! It's so fun for me to play online with friends, so I'd love an arcade version of it (unlikely, but your always free to dream)! 😁 But back onto racing games in arcades, most Tenpins now only have Cruis'n Blasts now sadly! Of which is by far one of the laughably worst arcade racing game I've ever played (but not quite as bad as Sega Touring Car lol)! 😂 Raw Thrills/Nintendo could have done much better with that game! That said, some of the other new Raw Thrills games are actually quite good (with Halo Fireteam Raven being one of them)! 😍

What a great remake/ evolution of the original game, and from what I've heard, it's closer to what the designer wanted it to be all along. So much fun to be sitting in a cabinet and play live with friends. The sheer excitement of it could only be SEGA!

This game is pure arcade gold! Not only is it a great remake/evolution of the original, but I also feel it's aged so good and holds up extremely well to other modern day arcade racers, if not better?!! :D Even though unfortunately this very cabinet has fallen into a state of disrepair since making this video, I'd much rather play this despite being wrecked over any brand new or pristine Daytona Championship USA or Mario Kart Arcade Grand Prix DX! ;)

Yes! That's the exact one! 😍 I'm super happy they've still got it! But sadly it's a bit rough around the edges now! Most wheels have steering issues, gas pedals sticking (like on the yellow one I just played in this video) and shifters not working properly! 😕 You're best bet is the blue car on the right hand side! That works perfectly in every way! 😉

These things are amazing! Still solid even today, but sadly getting increasingly uncommon... SEGA made some great big screen cabinets, especially the first Daytona USA ones! 😍 It would be great to see SEGA get back into the arcade market as Raw Thrills I find to be quite a mixed bag, and have never made arcade racers as good as SEGA! I'm still holding out hope though!!! 😎

I remember playing this at a SEGA GameWorks arcade in the US before they closed and became a LEGOLAND. Such a great racing game. The XBOX port is fun and all, but you really haven't had the experience until you play one of these with the huge cars and the motion.

There are thousands of memories lie with this setup, even though it has now been removed! They totally ruined this machine when they stuck that cheap-ass Ferrari bill board at the top, tore off the original screen borders and slapped those cheap nasty 65 inch TVs on it! Doing that not only made it look an eyesore but also cheapened the look of the whole machine! :/ And the yellow and blue cars going bust towards the end of it's life is a whole new thing! (they had the best working controls beforehand, so I have no idea why those two died first?) I got a reply to a message on Facebook from them that apparently it had to go as spare parts were near impossible and too hard work to find, saying "it was past it's time"...? Definitely do ask though, the more we can find out the better! The Mirage in Mablethorpe have one, and has been in much better condition than this one ever since 2016! :)

I played on one of these the other day with a friend, and the 2 driver mode is a blast! Sadly though, the servos in the red car were busted ( and apparently, this cabinet is extremely hard to fix) but it was still fun.

The owner of this arcade told me he had to get rid of this machine because spare parts for them is non existent to get hold of anymore...? 🤔 All I can do is cherish the very few of these machines that are still operating, regardless of their condition. Nevertheless, whenever you can find one, it's still a blast to play!! 😁

The hardest parts are the actual pc inside “lindbergh” its a pain in the ass lol apart from that we keep ours running no issues, meaning steering wheels snapping off to the pedals not working. Reproduction parts are avail.

I spotted at least three of them in Moscow, Russia. They are somewhat prominent in Russia, because arcade owners really like huge and expensive arcade machines, and so do the players. F-Zero AX and Cycraft machines are also prominent, especially F-Zero AX, considering just how rare these things are.

I found one of these with the 4 linked together at a place in Orlando called Dezerland, place had a pretty nice arcade. I'm not a huge racing game fan but Outrun 2 does feel like it's a good bit higher quality than a lot of other arcade racing games I've played especially because of how the steering wheel feels, it actually has resistance unlike a lot of other arcade steering wheels I've tried. The whole 2 drivers thing seems or pretty neat though I never played with another driver.

Played this on Honolulu's Lucky Strike Social Arcade (8/3/19). There was 3 players available and one was broken. On one race, I beaten the two random rivals while taking all hard route only. When I played alone, I got through the entire Outrun track, but don't know which route I took to win.

That's so good to here, as apparently these are very rare in the US!! 😁 Multiplayer on this is so fun!!! 😉 But congrats on beating the game multiple times!! 🙌 But unfortunately the exact machine in this video has the same issues too! Most of the players have problems (such as dodgy steering calibrations, gas pedals sticking, wheels not re-centering properly, etc.). 😕 Fortunately, the blue car on the right side works perfectly fine though!! 👌

Haven't seen this huge arcade contraption set-up since the mid 2000s.. one arcade place I used to go to had this set-up for 2 years before removing it.. probably it was burning through the electric bill than its monthly revenue lol

Yeah, I keep seeing this appear in other arcade than this one over the years, and they seem to remove them after 1 or 2 years... 🤔 It's kinda sad really! However this exact setup is still standing here ever since I first found it in 2009! 😁

This sort of machine still exists at Lucky Strike arcade in Ala Moana Shopping Center, Hawaii I've placed a few high scores on it and the machine is in great shape
