Bedloft Futon Assembly

This is a short video to illustrate how to assemble a futon frame purchased from Bedloft.com.

The couch arrived in two boxes four days early, which was great because we'd just moved into a new house and needed places to sit. My son and I put it together pretty quickly kzbin.infoUgkxitRzxya-XugamYgLwa_2G1gxPg4MCJHa . Another reviewer suggested inserting the seat into the side and I'm glad they did as the instructions weren't clear on that matter. It's incredibly light and slides easily across the wood floor, making it easy to move. It's firm, but comfortable. It will even be great to nap on. I got the gray, which definitely has strong blue undertones, but I'm okay with that.

This one looks so easy to close, I wish it were that easy to close mine:( I have a metal frame one as well. Probably not the same make you have. It has oak sides but metal frame underneath. But wow, is it difficult to close!! My wife and I together can close it easy enough but I can't figure how to do it easy, unless I tilt the whole bed back which seems very odd and shouldn't be the way it should be done for sure. I can't even find a correct tutorial on it in google. And can't find the brand name on the used futon that I bought. Again, it has a wood oak (I think) on the sides but a complete metal frame that is supposed to bend (two section) when you left it up. Which I can't by myself unless again, I tilt Waaaaayyyy back:( Thanks for reading !

thetiler, thanks for sharing your experience. I'm facing the same challenge of the bed to sofa conversion. Very difficult for one person. Have you figured out a way to do it by yourself? I'm trying to rig a rope tied at key points, so it becomes a lever system. May have to lube the hinges too. Cheers!

Once it's assembled, it can be folded to a sofa or a bed. But how to close it? For like transporting it?

Try assembling this in a very limited space. With all that spacing, assembling a futon is pretty straight forward.

Yeah, video quality is bad but I was only interested in the order in which he assembled the parts. I assembled my similar futon sofa bed successfully based on this video.
