@@beccaamigo Yes, saving your money is more important. Eventually, you will find the pieces you love, and your space will be curated exactly the way you want it slowly. I purchased a new build in 2002 as a single mom with my daughter, and it took me until 2021 to complete all the upgrades. When you spend your hard-earned money, ensure it’s worth it to you. You are adorable and have wonderful design ideas. Great job! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙋🏻‍♀️

here is an idea: get a piece of wood cover front with foam board. ( or use two pieces foam board glued to hard/cardboard) cut to desired shape ( rent a saw) cover with batting used for quilting and make a huge pillow case like slip cover! You could use camel back sofa shape, tall and square, scalloped or any shape. Pick your gorgeous fabric to go with your favorite bedding. You can even make seasonal slip covers for the holidays😉 Id go for tall square, then put sconce or handing lamps on each side above side tables. then you do not need any more art on that wall.

I think drapes can make or break a space! I don't think you broke the rule, it is a large piece, and quite expensive at least when it's good quality.

“I lost energy doing my winged liner” hahaha I feel you with that. It’s a thing. And I am so dark and moody, but I love your vision. This was really inspiring because I lean toward the dark colors & my house has like 4 dark rooms…. So I am trying to balance it out before I make it 5. Anyways though! I do that all the time! Something catches my eye while trying to stay in my budget & im like okay, I need this in my life now so rearranging the budgetttt likeee right now. And such good advice on spending more on what u will have for a while. (Except yes totally get those curtains lol break your rule!) also love the legs on the nightstands 😍 what is it about furniture with legs? Okay I’m stopping before I comment on everything - love watching the processss!!

Can I just offer this? I want to see YOU design your room!! I think community designed rooms are a bummer. You said it yourself. You WANT a dark and moody room but the voters picked something else. And it’s making you sad! I like following designers for their unique take on interiors and it expands my interests and ways of seeing. Not because they follow a group think. Show us what YOU can do! I have those nightstands! I love them… not the most durable if you have 4 cats though! Absolutely beautiful though. Also slightly difficult to build and may register as small if you have a king bed 💕

That is such a great idea! It would really bring in that color, texture and visual interest! It might be out of my budget for now but I’ll try to shop around and see if I can implement that. If not I can definitely add on in the future.

I did paneling in my coffee nook video as a renter! Basically, I just used very lightweight beadboard from Home Depot and used command strips! Although, after doing that project, there are sometimes things I would do differently which I will show in the bedroom makeover! Should be out in a few weeks!

The liner just takes too much out of me sometimes 😂 thank you for your prayers I am on the up and up! I can do a little q&a if you guys are interested! Not much to say though, I started taking design classes on the side but ultimately went in a different direction career wise. But after a few years of feeling a little lost, I’m back into it! So never finished the schooling aspect but I have taken some courses. And thank you!! Can’t wait for you guys to see it!
