I really am liking the art as it is. A lot of channels and webcomics fall into the trap of experimenting with their art styles too much, slowing down productivity and losing a lot of the charm that made them popular in the first place. I think BTS has found an excellent groove with this present level of grey-scale punctuated with select color. Really is evocative in the best way possible for Fortean faire!

The story of this car was all over the vintage Chrysler fan communities a few years ago, primarily because they felt sorry for the autistic woman that owned the car (who apparently lived in it at the time) and were annoyed with her mother, who took it away, sent it to a junkyard and heavily damaged it....especially since it's a very rare car. I seem to remember there being some sort of fundraiser for her. The stories about it being cursed, or even being an ex police car, or stolen by a church, were not claimed at that time. I think she's just trying to build a legend for the vehicle.

Interesting as always.....and now for a similar story that should interest the UK contingent.....I work as a photographer on the airshow circuit photographing WWII planes and we have a pilot here in Denver who had a very nice Hawker Sea Fury fighter for quite a while....until the plane had a gear up accident.....it was transported to Texas to be fixed by a famous warbird shop there and was returned to the owner in Denver the next year.....and the same thing happened again, another gear up accident! Off to Texas it went again to be fixed and this time once it was fixed the shop owner took it up himself for a test flight with a passenger...and on approach to landing at the airport in Texas the engine conked out and the pilot had to belly the plane in.....the passenger survived the crash landing just fine, the restoration shop owner/pilot not so we'll, he spent the rest of his days in a wheelchair and it was pretty rough going for a few months there immediately after the accident. He was a friend of mine and unfortunately he did pass a few years ago. The kicker to all of this is this plane, before it was sold to it's Denver based owner, had flipped over in Florida some years before and killed it's then owner! Now it is off the airshow circuit and I have no idea what has become of it.

@EphemeralProductions2 жыл бұрын
@@marhawkman303 I’m of the opinion that curses on inanimate objects CAN be man made, but, not in the way you’re probably referring to. The human mind is a powerful thing and it’s been proven thoughts have physical properties and can affect many things. So i believe that if one (or more) people think something is cursed, then the object can indeed “live up” to that fueled solely by people’s thoughts and intents. Wild? Yeah but think about it: there’s been many more wild things that have been proven.

@@EphemeralProductions even more interesting is the power of suggestion. Telling someone something is "creepy and unnatural" will make the mind go places it wouldn't otherwise. I'm thinking that if there is any truth to the Golden Eagle being cursed, it may be brought upon in how certain people interact with it. Perhaps because the fire department believed it was good, the "spirit" of the Golden Eagle manifested as a force of good. And perhaps because certain others believed the car to be evil, the "spirit" of the Golden Eagle manifested as a force of evil. Perhaps because Wendy Allen didn't believe there was anything good or evil about the car, the car became neither good nor evil.

@Anxious Samurai I think the dozens of coincidental causalities that included local wildlife, Mrs. Bryant, 2 children, the decapitated parishioner, etc., would beg to differ. Also that Wendy is pretty antisocial and antagonistic knowing full well the history of the car and the anxiety it stirred among her community members and still, she chose to press on and buy it. This makes her that sort of divisive neighbour that nobody really wants to have around.

I'm so relieved that I didn't click away until the very last minute of this video - would've never guessed the singing was 'hiding' at the end like that.

Yeah nah my '94 Honda Prelude was definitely cursed. I always had little mechanical problems with it, then one night a brand new wheel bearing collapsed slightly while I was in the middle of a session of spirited driving, and I span out and smashed up an embankment and into a tree. The chassis is a total write off, but the motor is fine and will live on in another, (less cursed, I hope 😅) Honda soon

Very eerie story. I remember reading Stephen King’s Christine. I remember only reading half of the book because I felt a little uneasy, more like on edge because of the interaction between Arnie Cunningham and Christine. One line in the book that I remember most was when Christine, with the dashboard and interior lights glowing saying to Arnie and the reader, “Let’s cruise.” I couldn’t read any further. I am surprised that this eerie account wasn’t made into a movie. It would definitely challenge a viewer into wondering if the car was, indeed, cursed or was it the people or things that were in close proximity of the car who were guilt ridden or had other serious problems within themselves. My younger brother was driving home on the Florida turnpike when a bolt of lightning struck his vehicle. The vehicle’s power went out and so did the engine. The one bit of evidence to the lightning strike was the antenna, which was melted. My brother got rid of the vehicle and bought another. No other incidents happened after that.

Ah, Christine. I have fond memories of my family and I sitting down to watch it one day not knowing what kind of movie it was. We had a great time laughing at it thinking it was a comedy and only later we found out it was supposed to be a horror movie. So, we watched it again and laughed even harder.

First up, love the color scheme. It works great. I couldn't stop laughing at 11:23 though, where Mrs Bryant is ejected from the car and Mrs Allen just goes back to looking at the road, like, 'Welp, I tried."

I actually own a truck I named Christine. We named it for company reasons, so that we can keep track of the vehicles. It is a red and chrome Ford Ranger. While not a 1958 Plymouth, It is about the same age, retroactively, as the original car was in the book. One month after we purchased her, she blew a piston. That was fine, as I know how to build engines. We put a bigger engine in her, but... it didn't run quite right. She fast fast, but kept misfiring, and throwing up engine codes. On closer inspection, it had a dead cylinder on number 3. Completely dead, no compression. Seeing as it was only a four-cylinder, it should not have even run! I took the top end off, only to find that four of the valves were bent. Four, out of eight. We replaced the four valves, re-seated them, and threw the top end back in. It is running right now, but we dare not talk bad about her. Fords are temperamental that way. Never buy her the best parts, only fix what is broken, and "drive her hard and put her to bed wet." And... knock on wood, she has never broke down on us. As for the story... it leaves a lot of gaping holes. Like, when did the officer find the body of his comrade? If Ms. Allen practiced Wiccan, why did she not let the church perform an exorcism? Why was she even friends with a preacher's wife? Any people that practice that are VERY open minded, and would have no problem performing anything they wanted on the car, just laughing a little bit while they were doing it. There are a LOT of unanswered questions with this one. At least, IMO.

One night many years ago while driving with a friend I noticed what had been a beautiful 1974 Cadillac sedan DeVille sitting in the parking lot of a liquor store. The Cadillac had been modified extensively though. Oversized rims, a faux Louis Vuitton vinyl top and worst of all Lamborghini style scissors doors. I just shook my head and said "what a waste of a beautiful car." My friend though who had quite a reputation as being very close to the spirit and supernatural world simply said with no emotion or inflection "That car will kill them for what they have done to it. It's angry and it will kill them for what they have done. It's very angry I can feel it from here." She went on to explain that many inanimate objects were just that inanimate but that all objects did have some type of energy around them. Some attracted and held more than others, while some accumulated enough energy to for lack of better term approach a type of sentience. Some are happy and benign others... not so much. I don't know if I believe any of that but I still found it to be a chilling statement possibly because somewhere ...I don't know...but for reasons I can't quite explain maybe because years earlier by myself had had a Chevy Tahoe That had been owned by the Michigan State Police That was actually banned from three different shops for injuring everyone who attempted the work on it even the service techs at the Chevrolet dealership hated working on it. It even had once fired a spring clip from the dashboard through my thumbnail among other injuries it gave me I don't know, her statement just felt true.
