The ethereal quality of Robin's voice never ceases to touch a special place in my heart . No matter how many times I listen I'm still moved to tears by their unique talent. Very grateful for the legacy they left for us to enjoy. ❤🙏🙏🙏

Thanks, Amber! Such a beautiful song.. (this was a much "older" version than the original) Robin was always my favorite! appreciate your reaction... (no better harmonies that among family...) One version of this song was done on the Johnny Carson show.. live.. with Robin singing lead and oldest brother Barry playing guitar... Robin's fraternal twin Maurice.. who never gets the credit he deserved... is "clowning" b/c his part is intermittent.. it's really fun, so if you have time & inclination, check this out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rneaaZKwfrCHmbs

This is the first #1 Bee Gees song in America! This was 1960s before Barry started using or discovered his falsetto. Interestingly enough, it’s Maurice that sings the high parts in this song! These 3 brothers used to sing in their bedroom as youngsters and their mother thought they accidentally left the radio on. Mom opened the door to turn the radio off and realized she didn’t hear the radio, rather, she was hearing her sons singing! They started performing when the twins were 5 and Barry was 8!

The brothers were Manx (from the Isle of Man) and their first TV performance was in Australia in 1960 when the twins were 9 and Barry 12. They had no musical education and cannot read or write music but have composed an amazingly versatile collection of over 1000 songs for themselves and hits for other big stars. They were labelled as disco but that is terribly inaccurate. They actually considered that era R&B and it was only a brief phase of their career. They became very popular with that, overexposed and blacklisted so nobody would play their great music from the '80's, 90's and 2000's. STUPID! I like a lot of their older songs. Robin had a 5 octave range and beautiful vibrato. He did a lot of leads early in their career and quite a few after disco. Early ones - "I started a joke" from this same concert. "And the sun will shine", "Country lanes", etc. Post disco Robin is prominent in "When he's gone", "Bodyguard", "Please" and others. He did more leads than many realise. It's just that the disco era with Barry's falsetto was so well known. Robin also was a big contributor to the songwriting with Barry and as well as writing an orchestral piece "The Titanic Requiem" played by the National Philharmonic. Maurice was the musical wonder boy who put their lyrics and melodies to music and found the right 3rd harmony. Barry was the eldest and leader. PS the medley from this concert is amazing and highlights some of their hits AND those they wrote for others and shows each brother's fortes....One for all tour Melbourne 1989.

Yes…they were great! Keep The Bee Gees coming!!!! DO Fanny Be Tender next! OR… if you really want to hear their harmonies live, do the LIVE MEDLEY from this same concert - 1989. It’s just the 3 of them singing around 1 mic, and the harmonies are fantastic! Make sure you do the entire medley which is about 12-14 minutes in length… but it’s worth it!

Some of their best harmony is on 'Run To Me', Maurice brings it in the choruses! And in 'Alone', another super high falsetto fantasy, he hits notes that sound more like a flute than a human! I'm an old guy, and saw them do 'Night's On Broadway and other songs on the Midnight Special TV show, and 'Alone' still sounds like the first time I heard it..

They had a fourth brother named Andy who had a solo career. He sings a song called "Shadow Dancing" that you should react to. He looks like Barry's twin, even though he's quite a few years younger. I believe the original plan was to bring him into the Bee Gees, but sadly he died at the age of 30 before that could happen.

I cannot swear to the truth of this, but I have read (some time ago) that in order to prevent conflict between the brothers about the recording of songs, whichever brother wrote the song would take the lead. These three "power houses of song" also had a much younger brother (Andy) who sang with them for a bit, but then went out on his own. Unfortunately, Andy died at a very young age. I believe he was only about 30 years old.

Yup. No one does harmony like these guys. That last, I think it's a five to one chord change at the very end, nothing like it. This one in the link attached, from Here At Last...Bee Gees Live, you can hear it even more clearly (at 11:40 in the video). If you want to go down the Bee Gees rabbit hole, I suggest to start, To Love Somebody, Smoke and Mirrors Nights on Broadway and Too Much Heaven. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j17FlaanbLh_pKc

@A.DReacts Hello there, greetings from UK I notice that you have a brand new channel and therefore I don't know what your musical tastes may encompass, but I noticed that you have a reaction to Disturbed in your reaction list, so I thought that I would give you a song recommendation that may, or may not be something you might like? A favourite with most reactors is a band called Nightwish. They play what is termed 'Symphonic Metal'. It may not be what you at first envision Metal to be. One of their songs is in the top three most reacted songs in KZbin history, but I am recommending a song which they realeased just last week as it has an awesome music video to accompany it It is a song called "Perfume Of The Timeless" Releaseed just eight days ago it has so far amassed 1.3 Million views 😁 I hope that you enjoy it and decide to react to it 😊 kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXmmko2jft-lZtEsi=kqk5KKYZG26FdjT5 Who knows, you may get a visit from The Nightwish Army coming to watch your reaction

Isn’t it sad when you compare the mega selling musicians of today to the amazing music of The BeeGees, Beatles, Eagles, Three Dog Night and so many others of the 1960’s and 70’s. Young people today think Taylor Swift is the greatest thing in the history of music. She and other current “superstars” can’t come close to the music of the 60’s and 70’s.
