The rhythm of the song comes from a clickety clack sound the tires of their car made everyday, driving across a bridge in Miami on the way to the studio. They started singing a melody to it and Jive Talking was born.

Sorry Dereck, just wanted to say that you should check out For Whom the Bell Tolls live under the New York bridge. Robin is the surprise here and you don't see it coming, he just makes this song. Long ago I knew his voice was unique as he starts the song How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, but I didn't expect this from him. It will take your breath away, well it did mine. Thanks again! The rhythm guitar that starts the song, was what Barry heard while driving over a bridge every day. One day he started to sing to the beat of the road and Jive Talkin was born

This was the track responsible for their resurgence, they had lots of hits from the 60s to early seventies. Their career stagnated for a few years, they then went to Miami on the advice of Eric Clapton to create a new sound for themselves. They were originally known for pop tunes and crossover country styles early in their career. They decided to try R&B and soon found themselves at the centre of the disco revolution as their sound became more upbeat.

This was the beginning of their comback from the downturn in the periode from 72 - 74. The song was released as a blank white label single and sent out to radio station. The stations did not know who it was but started to play it more and more. When they found out it was The bee Gees they said "What!! How Can You Mend A Broken Heart Bee Gees, No Way" It ended up as number 1 on the charts. Their first after How Can You Mend A Broken Heart. It was their first really step into R&B/Soul that in the end ended up with the SNF and Spirit album and this has to be highly credited to their producer at the time, Arif Mardin that guided them in this direction. It was released on the Main Course album from 1975 and then again on SNF from 1977

Quincy Jones said the best rhythm n' blues song he ever heard was The Bee Gees doing Fannie - Be Tender With My Love. The falsettos in it are unbelievable!

Fanny be tender with my love is really an interesting song Because all three of them sing the falsetto and all three of them have a solo part in them. That is a great song. I believe it was one of their first that they wrote while in Miami.
@ridgemanron3 жыл бұрын
@@katie-didellis2437 I know that Fannie was the name of the maid at the 'studio - home' where they worked on the writing and they felt that her name could smoothly be inserted into the lyrics. There was a tribute group from Canada named 'Stayin Alive' who were quite good and had an excellent girl singing falsetto when you see them on stage performing. The lead singer was quite good as well, for I've never heard anyone do a cover of the song better than them.

I can only pray that Sir Barry Gibb watches Your reaction, my friend - because, it's PRICELESS!💕 (There are longer versions on KZbin of this track - and no, there are no bad apples, as far as the Bee Gees go!😊) The fact that none of the brothers were musically trained (they never learned to read notes, didn't know what musical scales were, and were self taught at playing several instruments...) makes their pure, raw talent something beyond remarkable...💖💖💖

The bridge is in Miami Beach Florida. In explaining how The Bee Gees wrote the song, Barry Gibb described crossing Biscayne Bay on the Julia Tuttle Bridge each day to get to the studios. One day, he started humming a rhythm to the beat of the cracks in the bridge road and Jive Talkin' was born.
