Bee Man Vs Stubborn Bees In Shed Floor

I had removed bees form this shed 2 years & one month ago. That colony was underneath the floor on the right side. This colony was on the front of the shed right by the front door under the plywood floor.
This colony was more established with more numbers but the bees were very gentle requiring zero smoke to deal with.
The queen was a stubborn one to say the least, even more stubborn than the floor was to open.
The floor was screwed down, but several screws were countersunk whereby you couldn't tell they were even there.
With perseverance I was able to do what needed to be done.
It was in the 90's F when I began the job late Friday evening. Because the bees were underneath two different adjacent floor sections I ran out of time the first evening to pull all comb out.
I began Part 2, day 2 the following day, Saturday at 6:40 am. The queen was super stubborn & forced me to leave the box on site until Sunday night.
I went by Saturday evening to check the box to see if she had moved in & lo & behold she had, fantastic!
I am a beekeeper & live bee removal specialist located within 10 miles of New Orleans, Louisiana.
We have mild winters & bees thrive here & keep me busy approximately 10.5 months of the year.
I will go just about anywhere to deal with bees but home base is southeast, Louisiana.
The bee vac I helped test & design & highly recommend is the Colorado Bee Vac.
HoneybGone is my preferred bee repellent manufactured by Blythewood Bee Company who also manufactures Swarm Commander, honey bee lure.
If you enjoy my videos please consider subscribing to my channel, I would greatly appreciate that!

This is why I like your videos Jeff. Most of the time, folks who are impatient would simply go in there with a bee vacuum and call it a day; Always in a hurry. But you my friend understand the importance of making a connection with the bees. I get you! Thanks as always for foolin' around in front of the camera. Keep 'em coming brother!! 🐝☮️☯️

I used to be scared to death of bees growing up. Any kind of buzzing insect, I did not like. I still don't like most of them lol, but since watching your videos JP, I've really started to get over that fear. Just last thursday, I found myself sitting right next to a honey bee that was just out in the open and found I didn't even bat an eyelash. So thanks for helping my heart catch up to my brain. They really are amazing little creatures.

JP! First, no one does it like you. You are the gold standard (or perhaps i should say, honey-gold standard) for all beekeeping videos. Second, i found myself shouting at the screen several times during this video. Some of the shouts? "No, JP! Don't eat that honey! There were cockroaches in there!" "But JP! You can't walk away now! The bees in the box will think they're a split and they won't love the old queen anymore!" "Oh JP - you need to hydrate. You're exhausting yourself." "I see her! JP! Hold that comb over the box in case she falls off!" I was enthralled. Every single second, i was enthralled. And hubby enjoyed it too! Wonderful, wonderful video (as always). Thanks, JP. You're one in a billion.

Love watching bees in your area (so gentle) instead of the Africanized bees we have here in Arizona. I wanted to be a bee keeper till I got stung by bees in my front yard simple as I walked passed them. They were guarding my pond (no hive involved) and I never allergic. I had to get rid of my pond and my dreams of bee keeping.

Bees are the #1 MOST IMPORTANT living being on the Earth. 90% of the bees are gone. If we lose the bees we will only have 4 years to live. I'm so happy to see you doing this. I want to have a hive, but the old folks village is just across the driveway and the manager has told me they will likely not like the idea because they are afraid of being stung. I saw a flower pot hive on another channel and so I think I'll try that. I have a garden, but I don't see many bees around. I'm planting more and more flowers for the bees. Wish me luck. I hope it all works.

Just wish I could keep bees again, used to do a little of what you do, I would collect the swarms and give them to my friends who had bees. But now all we have here is Africanized bees here in southeastern Arizona, unless you have an area out away from all people to keep the people safe. Maybe some day I will be able to move to an area that I can have them. One more thing, thank you for what you do as far as saving the bees because we need all we can get.

@@JPthebeeman I am in Florida and it really matters! And we have a lot of bees here and I have seen where they have gotten in some very small holes! I asked if I could have bees but in the city they will not let me. But if I could I only need to put a hive box out in the spring with some used frames or something to get them to go in. With in 3 blocks of my house there has been 2 houses had bees get in them. I have a rain barrel and last summer I had bees come to get water from it. The water was overflowing and it made a flat place that they could land on and walk to the edge of water because it was not level. They loved it and when we did get rain and it dried up I would add water to make sure that they had water.I walked in the middle of them and didn't care! I got where it was normal for me to stand in the middle of where they were flying around and got used to them flying around me. Not one sting. All they wanted was water and they had nothing to defend!

@@donaldsmith3048 yep, foraging bees are not interested in stinging anyone unless a robbing frenzy ensues then they can become aggressive. Certain times of the year are ripe for robbing, almost always during a dearth. I’ve had people say they were stung by bees getting water from their pool but I’m very suspicious the bees stung them without any provocation on their part, like swatting or stepping on them accidentally.

Well done, JP. They look like really nice bees, too, very quiet on the comb and gentle. May they prosper in your care. :)
