Bee Swarm was there 3 Days!

It had been just 70 hours since a swarm of bees had moved into this wall via the brick weep holes. They hadn't wasted any time building new comb, and the queen had already started laying eggs.
In the second part of this video, we show the bees being released from the bee vacuum box to fly up to the 5-frame nuc where the queen was safely caged. The nuc was placed directly adjacent to the now blocked weep hole where they were gaining entry into the wall cavity. Unable to reenter the wall, it only took moments for the bee to find their queen and start reorientating to their new home.

Is the 'wire' / 'spring' you use to keep the lids on the box, something manufactured commercially or do you fabricate them?

How is it you don’t seem to get stung? Everywhere else people seem to wear suits, masks and the like.

Every colony has a different temperament. Generally speaking a brand new nest is less defensive. If I handle them gently they are usually gentle in return. I have to be careful not to stress them, squeeze or squash them, otherwise they will sting. I also use a little smoke to hide their defensive pheromone which alerts other bees to a possible threat and possibly sting too.
