10:10 That is way more space than you need between the strips. Remember, it’s air that you need to get to pass through the gap between the slices. You might have been able to get that extra tray in there.

I like my salt, black pepper and chili pepper, a quarter inch beef sprinkle salt very light one side of meat only otherwise when meat dry will be very salty high blood pressure kick in fast. You can dehydrated right away I'd try many flavor but this one the best flavor and I'd been eating for the past 24 years.

I have the same one. Use eye of round. But I do 160 for like 3 hours. Last time I did 4 hours and it was too long. Not sure why or how my times are less than others. At 3 hours and barely bends and has a nice tear and you can see the fibers.

I've never tried turkey, but I have made chicken jerky. You just have to make certain that it's cooked well. Good luck!

Anything lean should do. You just want to make sure any fat is rendered, so I try to avoid too much marbling.

Traditionally biltong is made without heat but this could make a close replica.

can you cook raw meat in there? does it actually reach 165 with meat inside?

how do you like the dehydrator? have a follow up video on the unit? i'm looking for one. also, i'd like to duplicate the 'goodtimes peppered saddlebag jerky' any tips?

Hi there! Sorry for the late reply. I absolutely love this dehydrator! I've used it several times since and have made fruit leather in it as well. I have several dehydrator, but this is my main one now. The biggest tip I can offer for jerky is to marinate overnight. Other than that, just dehydrate until you reach the desired texture! If you want meat to not go rancid and last longer use onion and garlic salt instead of powder. I never use powder in my recipes

True, but garlic salt is literally garlic powder and salt. There is salt added to the recipe and that's what the addition of the curing salt is for also. Its entire purpose is to cure it properly and safely. I also use full sodium soy sauce. My jerky is never rancid. Also on rotating trays, I don't usually, but my dehydrator previous to this wasn't heating evenly so I had to rotate. This machine does not need it. Thanks for stopping by!
