I was thinking that its the same concept as pemmican rubaboo. French voyageurs had rations of pemmican (dried meat) and made a stew with it trying to reconstitute it just like with the second pizza here. Rubaboo is a portmanteau of french word "roux" and the algonquin word for stew, "aboo"

How do you always get the dough to come off of the metal pizza peel so easily? It always sticks so bad for me unless I use an obscene amount of flour. I have better luck with a wood peel, but still feel like I use too much flour. Moving from counter, to peel, to oven is the only part of the pizza process that I still consistently have trouble with.

Maybe try water instead of stock which has more salt in it, then just to make sure you try to get as much salt as you can off of it damp them dry. Maybe that can fix the salt levels
