Well done and thanks Rik for sharing a simple to follow recipe, and also showing the great benefits of using a slow cooker which always achieves good results for tenderness of the meat and overall flavour. Sometimes I also put a cartouche of baking parchment on top to prevent it from drying out. Optional of course. Keep up the great videos!

@@BackyardChef C'mom no need to be sarcastic. is it a cup form a UK cup or a cup as a US measure. Yes your right its not a science. Most UK chefs do not use cups. Its US thing. I was only asking.

That’s a vindaloo, not a madras. Looks absolutely incredible though!
@BackyardChef15 күн бұрын
EEEEEEEEERM!
@neelo7915 күн бұрын
@ my understanding is that vindaloo basically means curry sauce with vinegar in. Because you used apple cider vinegar, that makes it a vindaloo. Madras is a restaurant recipe, typically always made with lemon juice for the acid taste, or with lime juice at a pinch. I just got a slow cooker for Xmas, so I’m going to try your recipe, it looks amazing.
@BackyardChef15 күн бұрын
@@neelo79 You have to cook it your own way - I'm NOT being drawn into any conversation - about restaurant - bir or any other tosh. Here is my background once only - I started work in a takeaway and restaurant - been involved in bir professionally for more than 40 years. So not to be rude to you - If you think a Madras is a restaurant curry - what about all the madras curries made on the streets in Asia. There are hundreds of ways to make a Madras curry if you know how to make a curry -ketchup being a very quick way. You need to be following another channel to be honest where they state Lemon - I really have no more time and interest. Like I say I'm not being rude I will say it as it is. Thank You. Best, Rik
