Ok...in Supercross/motocross its different. When you are trying to report on this sport from the tv coverage...you're going to fail. The coverage on tv is literally the top 2 or 3 maybe. When your at the races you can cover a lot of different angles that the tv doesn't. Unlike the NFL you could report on just watching it on tv cause it has really good coverage. Steve has his right to feel any certain way and I don't feel like he doesn't like Gypsy Tales it was just a spur of the moment. But you have to give credit where it's due..Steve does fly to every race and puts in the work. But Gypsy will one day be there, it's all about making the next step

I've been watching and racing MX since I was 11 (I'm 47 now). Your interviews and analysis are top notch. I know enough people from being around the sport so long that when I go to the races, I'm there in the pit and right in with the riders and mechanics. I can tell you about the conversation Eli had with me about 29 inch wheels on a mountain bike. I can tell you what color jersey Roczen is going to use in the race next week because we talked about his new Fox kit he is running prior to official release. But I see a hell of a lot more of the race by watching the same race when I get home and watch it on TV. I can't tell you how many times I've said "oh, that's what happened to __________. He crashed in the back section." When I was there, I just knew the rider was in 2nd and suddenly he was in 7th. Just keep doing what you're doing. You're doing great. And I love the way you handled this whole thing instead of going back at Steve Matthes. Great job!!

Your show is exactly what we need. I grew up racing in the northeast. U.S. and could care less if you are half a world away and aren't at every race.. the fuk this guy is on...I love listening to your show. I watch every race and moto and MMA are the only 2 sports I am into and have done. Personally I could give 2 shits what that angry man has to say. You have support from everywhere. And that dude Paul who stuck up for you. Thats a solid dude right there. So many time people will agree to just go along with someone just to not cause waves but that dude told it exactly how he felt about your podcast. Also if your show wasn't the shit then slimbo Jones over there wouldn't be trying to talk shit about you. Keep up the great work.

I've been following this sport for 15 years. I used to listen to pulpmx as it was really the only podcast that provided any insider view to this sport we all love. As the years progressed, I found Matthes insufferable. His arrogance is unprecedented and his proposition of gatekeeping motocross media to only those that are local is indicative of the mentality of most Americans (I'm American). I would much rather listen to a podcast consisting of Jason Weigandt, David Pingree, and David Bailey. I came across Gypsy Tales a few month ago and have became thoroughly impressed. In your older interviews I felt you were constantly trying to get your point in and would talk over your guests which was sometimes annoying. But, I've watched you grow into a better interviewer because you took in feedback from your listeners. You let your guests speak while you guide the conversation. I find your interviews more insightful and of higher quality. You're only getting better and I'm eager to see how your channel progresses. Keep doing what you're doing. I would take him calling you out specifically as a testament to the fact that what you're doing is working.

Know i'm late to the party on this one, but dude from pulp sees you are carving your own niche within the moto-loving community. He should also realize it's being built on your (and our) passion for the sport. He seems somehow threatened by the accomplishments of another, or is insecure about his place in the moto community. Fucking guy presents with that elitist, self-righteous attitude that is a turnoff to many of us. We appreciate those who humbly & authentically serve up content that connects with the casual fan, the moto fanatic, the professional element, and everyone in between. Great guests & insightful interviews with an inclination for humor work well in almost any context. GG accomplishes all that consistently, and is why your subs have doubled since i first found you via the algorithm. I'm a licensed clinical therapist and can attest that "mind over matter" is more than a tired cliche. More specifically, an effective way to reframe the suppositions of others; "i don't really mind because it ("it"=dude's sense of entitlement and subjective criticism) doesn't really matter". Godspeed y'all. You keep creating & posting and we'll keep watching.

Matthes is a political liberal so his snarky and condescending attitude is to be expected. I do like his content though.

Never been a big fan of pulp. Me and some buddies have been working on starting a moto podcast and Gypsy Tales has been a huge inspiration for us. Matthes’ comments have just made me want to do it even more.
@bobzuruncle84243 жыл бұрын
Nothing Steve said is outrageous or “calling out” anyone. People just love trying to start drama. His only mistake is that he thinks pulp and Gypsy are the same kind of show; Matthes gets into the behind the scenes drama a lot more and has connections but Gypsy’s show is more like if a fan who watches it on tv and reads the magazines talked about the sport- but with the benefit if actually being able to interview the riders and such. I hope that makes sense lol.

Totally agree. All sides of the spectrum are good. I’ve been a moto fan since I could talk and I love your podcast. I love watching you guys chop it up and all the cool people you have on, plus the show is just entertaining for all levels in my opinion. I started out thinking “who’s this Gypsy dude and what does he know about riding?” And now I stay to the end of every video so I can say along with you “Gypsy... GANG”😂😂😂
