Bobby, I do like rhubarb, with gin, not that sure, but I would give it a go, if my back hurt that bad as yours does, I would be pissed on gin for the pain my friend, cheers.

It's food coloring and synthetic flavoring, which is why it's so cheap. Beefeater 24 is one of my favorite gins, but the fake fruit stuff is for college kids tasting booze for the first time.

While I like Beefeater as a run of the mill good gin, I'd say a 9 bucks gin from the local grocery store, which is just as good, and some fruit sirups probably make a better drink for the girly section of the crowd. I don't need to buy a pre-flavored gin for that which stains all my glasses with crappy food coloring ;) And I'm not surprised that it tastes like crap without the tonic. I'm pretty sure the chemical aromas in there are carefully calibrated to taste the way they're intended to once combined with tonic. This isn't meant to be drunk neat. It's meant to get teenagers drunk on parties ;)

I fear that both the rhubarb and cranberry flavors must be fairly artificial in that bottle. I'm not sure how much opportunity there is on the other side of the pond to really try raw cranberries as we get them here in America. To the uninitiated they are are aggressively sour with no real hint of fruitiness at all. The fruitiness only really emerges through cooking them (esp. the skins) with copious amounts of sugar. Similar is the case with rhubarb which is very little else but sour in its raw form. So any product that claims to be made with rhubarb and cranberries that isn't also distinctly sour raises some flags for me. Perhaps these ingredients going through the distillation process is different.

With many gins with fruits actually fermented and distilled- crap gin with chemically added fake flavor and especially toxic fake color is repulsive
