Bobby, Don’t be too hard on yourself. Ford’s was distilled in London but only available in the states for a long time. I’m happy to hear that they’re getting more markets worldwide! Fun Fact: Simon Ford, with his “The 86 Company” ships the gin to California after distillation to bottle & distribute.

Bobby, I bought my first bottle of this lovely liquid today. $30.00 US. I was in a store far away from my house, so we splurged a bit. It is amazing! Great with Fever Tree Indian Tonic--about the best I've tasted, and I'm about to turn 70 in a couple of months. It is really surprising that it keeps such full flavor in balance, but it does. It's perfectly suited to quaffing neat, which very few gins are. Still not ready to give a verdict on the Martini, beyond "unique," but all in due course. Cheers, my friend!

@@nononsensegindrinking5152 Thank you, mate! Here's the update on Ford's in a Martini:. Make it very dry, and use a lemon twist for garnish. For some reason, this gin does not work with an olive, or with a 5:1 ratio for the vermouth. Just a weird, woody taste. Probably just me, but there you are!

Have to agree, #3 and Fords are on my top shelf now with MGC, absolute favs...but Beefeater still can't be beat for the price on a rainy day. Personal opinion only, I am new at this.

Fords is one of my go to gins. Solid gin. Nothing fancy, just what London dry gin should be. Classic.

Fords is ranked among the best consumer grade and affordable gins here in the States. I have read several reviews about gins, and Fords ranks among the top 10 although its place varies from list to list. It's on my list to purchase, and yes, it's about $20 US.

It is made for cocktails. Watch it change your life in a Negroni or Last Word other than a G&T. This is maybe my top gin price:quality. Edit: typed this basically as you said all of this! It is $22 bucks at my local store.

Tried Ford’s on your recommendation Bobby, though it’s been available for some time in my local store. Balance is the first word that comes to mind. I’ve been alternating between Beefeater and Ford’s in Martini’s lately and while both are stellar, it’s clear the Ford’s is more even keeled and allows the vermouth to come through a tad more. I have to say, this will now be a standard in my top gin choices as well, right next to the aforementioned benchmark Beefeater. Thanks for the recommendation!

The more I drink it I’m realizing it’s almost too balanced for me. I prefer a stronger juniper forward gin. It’s very good but now that the bottle is empty I won’t replace it right away.

No overpowering flavours which I like but just a beaut gentile harmony of flavours, loving this and not being a big fan of high ABV gins this is a pleasant surprise, so easy to tackle...putting the seat belt on now, a hidden little gem.

I've been hemming and hawing on whether I should buy this one because it's so inexpensive here (about $25). It goes to show you that you can't always judge quality by price. (take Beefeater for instance!). Anyway, thank you so much for the wonderful review today, Bobby. Hi Boby!! I have a couple of things to tell you, I did try 2 new Gins (to me) this past weekend, the first one was the Strawberry Gin from beefeater and as you said it, it was delicious, like really gorgeous, I love it!!! The bottle was gone before I noticed, my mom and my wife also helped me, and my wife doesn't even drink at all, just once every blue moon, so that says a lot!!! Then as I told you, I knew I could find Brokers, and I did (the original though, the pink one is not available in Canada) also a very nice Gin, I think I like Tanqueray and Beefeater better but very good as well, the problem is that is not everywhere, but I know where to go if I want it again. Well that's it, this coming weekend I'll open my bottle of No. 3, I'll report back to you next week with my findings. Cheers!!!

You should review something from Manly Spirits, it's another Australian gin. Also just so you don't think Australia is some kind of gin heaven I suggest you also try Vickers Gin, without a doubt it is Australia's answer to Gordon's and for the longest time I didn't like gin because that's all they would serve in bars in Australia.

The people at the pub must know about Bobby's channel, sounds like when he ordered a Beefeater or Tanqueray, they gave him Bombay Sapphire instead. That turpentine botanical does a number on your system.

A bit odd question - I think my taste is somewhat opposite to yours, I usually like the more medicinal, earthy and bitter tastes rather than the zesty or floral ones. Also don't like the sweeter gins, and I do like strength (sadly I don't have navy-strength gins around here). Which bottles would you recommend in this case? Tanqueray comes to mind, particularly the original and not the 10 version (for the same reason stated above). Maybe Plymouth? Since I know this is out of your comfort zone, I'm rather curious to see what you think.

@@nononsensegindrinking5152 I think Hendricks might be too light. I have a small bottle of Nordes and it's just way too much like a perfume to my tastes, and I gather that Hendricks is somewhat similar in that sense. Wish I had the Sipsmith around, it indeed sounds like something I'd like.
