+My Smash Corner All mii fighters or do you mean brawler? Besides, that up B from brawler pretty much made the difference between top tier and bottom tier for the character. I don't hate it, but probably because I know mii fighters well and already knew that part of how to DI against it. If you're talking swordfighter, you'd have to be more specific, because he has a lot of versatility, though upb 1 and 3 are the only ones that can kill of which 3 is the most reliable. If you're talking gunner, then I'd be surprised, as gunner doesn't have spectacular upb's. There is one with a spike, but it's not that good..

Ultimately, I do wish moves like Sonic's UpAir, Meta Knight's UpB, Mario's UpB, and perhaps even some scary down smashes would be covered, but this video satisfies me. I know that most people would say "Just apply this knowledge to other moves that are similar", and that is true, you could probably do that, but in the end, there are still some special exceptions. That said, Beefy Smash Doods, you guys do god's work, along with My Smash Corner. Thank you for everything.

+Beefy Smash Doods how come like just using zss as an example if you are worried about dying off the top you DI down.... yet however for moves like up smashes that send you towards the ceiling it's left or right. Seems odd it works better to DI down for some moves to not die off the top and then others DIing down doesn't help at all.
@BeefySmashDoods9 жыл бұрын
+UraniulVl I'm afraid You did not fully understand how DI works. It is handled like vectors and their respective angles to each other. You do not change the amount of knockback but the angle it sends You. This is a mix of the moves knockback angle and your DIs angle. If You are still not sure how exactly it does work, please watch the video of MSC we linked at the beginning. -Slice

Also, for ZSS up special, when she starts the move, DI in and you'll never get hit by the last hit at kill percents.
@BeefySmashDoods9 жыл бұрын
+Kristian Morgan Only works if she moves forward while doing it. The same applies on the other side.. if you DI away and she moves backwards, you can get out. But if she has the same movement as your DI, you can't rly get out consistently. So it's a bit of a gamble or mindgame... and thats why we didnt want to put it in the video! -cFive

I always thought the best DI/vectoring direction from attacks that send you up was to point down, since if you get launched sideways, you input the other direction. So I always thought that applied to being launched up. Also, what about meteors? Is there a direction you should hold to survive it longer?

Aha! I've been wondering the best way to DI a lot of these! So the general rule of thumb is to DI to the side if a move launches you straight up, DI toward the stage if it hits you toward a side blast zone, and DI down and away if the angle is more diagonal? Then you have the exceptions for R.O.B.'s uair and Luigi's usmash, because they're weird like that...

Imagine if Smash 4 had Melee SDI and Directional Influence values... ganon's up smash, you either die or not. his is a single hit push that will kill you in higher %. no matter the DI. also since the move is so tricky, many ganons will charge it, making it impossible to survive, only at ver low %
@Vulgun9 жыл бұрын
+Beefy Smash Doods That's Ganondorf's Up Smash in a nutshell. Fast, Strong and used a lot. It's about as fast as Mario's Up Smash. Anyways, that can't be DI'd anyways because it's the most powerful Up Smash in the game, killing too low for proper DI to even matter at its sweetspot. At 45%, not even DI will aid you against it if it's used as an anti-air.
