I'm glad you brought up the findings with Ag chems. A resent study showed how bees collect certain pollens and tree resins that are added to their honey for heath, healing and detoxing their bodies. As the researchers found honey is the bee's pharmacy and sunflower pollen was the most wanted of the other pollens or tree resins.

David, I have a hive for third year… has been very mean so last year I re-queen the hive…. Twice and they never seem to accept her and within 7-10 I cannot find her nor any brood laying of eggs? I’ve used several methods to introduce.. Hoping they will except her…. Any ideas of what I should do? . They will make there own if I add a nice frame with eggs and brood….but really want to change the attitude gene thanks in advance Bill

David Re Colours in the UK we Say this little Ditty ! 😁 Phrase (Colour) (Years ending) Will (White) 1-6 You (Yellow) 2-7 Raise (Red) 3-8 Great (Green) 4-9 Bees (Blue) 5-0 So "2022" Queens are 2020 + "Two" or Marked "Yellow" 🟨 Tip : So the coming 2023 will be "Red" 🟥 .... Mmm, a Red dot on a Brown-Ginger Coloured Body Colour ! Kinda Colour Blinded by Nature surely !?! 🤔 Some Folk prefer their own Colour Pen Choice, like a Neon Pink, a Zippy Lime, (Your Option... As long as the Marker is Acrylic Paint based, :Not Alcohol Ink types, (they are Toxic to a Bees Anatomy !) I guess if you know which Pen Colour you used per "Year" you can Record what ever you like... But do tell Others that Zippy Lime means 'marked Queen' is year eg 2021 in my Method ! Sell her on... then do add / Over apply a Real "White" Dot for future Beekeepers (Owners of kind !) And I guess those who find certain Colours hard to see... Age, the Bee Veil, Dull Days, Smoke, a Dark Hive Comb... Might be Blinding us all ! 🥴 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 Happy Beekeeping 2022 🟨 👍 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝

How long do I wait to go back in to check if that queen has successfully mated? There was no brood or eggs on frames all full of nectar. Tomorrow go in to check Queen on other end of long Langstroth bee hive. Thank you for taking the time to inform us.

As I mentioned in the video, this queen cell was "mature" meaning that the queen was reading to emerge. So usually past day 13 we can move them around more freely. 13 day old queen cells are shipped. Prior to day 13 can be a problem. I noted in the video how dark the bottom of the cell was indicating she is ready to emerge any moment.
