Beekeeping WARNING: It's Robbing Season, Protect Your Bees!

Hay their David the bees have been keeping me for many years in this texas heat. Now that im almost 70 I dont want to lift the boxes any longer so this year I built a few Lazutin frames 18.5 inches depth and testing them in a 3 medium box 8 frame hive the inspections are fast and if your just looking for queen cells it only takes 2 or 3 minutes.

David GREAT VIDEO. I placed bee protein powder about 100 yds from the hives two days ago and checked it everyday, hardly any bees feeding, many bees still coming in with bee pollen just like your hive.

I noticed bees breaking down the propolis out of my empty supers I had out under shelter. There was specks of propolis scattered underneath them after noticing alot of activity from the bees

David, I kind of been running test like you’ve been doing. It’s been extremely windy here in PA. I noticed that the rubber bees are more out than the Homestead Bees is it due to their smallness I loaded 2 inch feet every day and every day the sugar water is gone. I do enjoy doing things like this. Also just to see how the bees are coming, but I noticed the rubber bees are a lot smaller than Homestead Bees and it’s been chilly also in the mornings and they’re out there Charlie PA.

I current have one hive. they are pretty strong. most they deal with is an occasional yellow jacket. feral bees are a non issue. going to try to split next year. then I would put a robber screen. I have it reduced and they are on the opening on guard.

Had my weakest hive robbed completely out last week. Nothing left in the hive at all except cappings.

I've left anti-robbing screens on all year, but I'm in So. California. Not sure if snowy weather would make a difference for that.

Lost one hive to wax moths during the deluge of rain on the southeast coast of NC. Combined what was left with a queenless hive and got robbed out. That wiped out our 2 12:16 two hives. The good news, we’ll start next spring with 3 hives this go round.

You didn't lose them to moths. They only come in after the hives already gone. Something else caused your bees to either die out or abscond.

can you put a robber screen on when running Formic PRo??? The directions say a totally open entrance for air flow.... but there is air flow with these robber screens.

My hive is getting robbed again. I have robber screen on and they just won’t stop. But my other two hives are not having this issue. It’s me\y weak hive ugh….. so frustrated…..
