I love how much the strategy for runs has changed in mirror mode with the dark abilities. Every little change they added from being able to lock in 2 inscriptions, the extra collector items, the bone altars to pump stats, the dark abilities and cursed abilities and the list goes on. It's given a totally different feel to the runs now and added a new level of complexity to runs that we never could have imagined. The way hard mode has increased not only the enemies but their move sets as well is requiring totally different play styles to survive from normal mode and they've managed to achieve an incredible balance with the items and abilities. They've done such an outstanding job.

Minor thing but I just recognized the NPC next to the mirror in the demon castle. He is one of the trio that comes to help skul after the Chimera fight when the first hero strikes him down.

I love seeing beelz actually struggle when playing this game, and how you're not always sure he is going to win. Before this new mode, he would just plow through the game and win basically everytime and not even have a hard time at all, even when a build wasnt working out he would just win regardless, but now shit has to really workout and he has to think really well about his actions not just because he wants a stronger run for the funnies, but because he needs it to survive

41:38 The solar sword is the same thing as the Axe since you don't have a power skull, could've taken it. Also Predicted Pain just lasts for 2 seconds so you need a lot of spammable skills, it wouldn't work with that much cd on your skills.

Beelz remember, if you buy a skull in the shop, you can use that to swap if a free skull is available from the headless guy. Hence making you save your current skull and sometimes giving more fragments. Like with gravy and frost boy here.

Great run asl always. Good to know I'm not the only one struggling in act 1. Also, for clarification, quarantine only hurts you if you touch the ring around them. And bleed does count as a status and can be reapplied with the dark ability

Breaking news: Just got my first victory in Skul! Started as a Skul Boi only run, turned into a full blasted Oberon run with Lou and double Shades! Had everything: Mage’s Necklace, Mana Bone, Elementalist’s Blessing and even Nether Mana Supressor. In Act 4 even Archlich said hello, that’s when I thought to leave this comment. This run was given to me by the gods.. Thank you Beelz for the content and the greatest tutorial to this game. Stay Beelzing! ❤️

5:38, To answer this question, Act 1 is so difficult now because you start with no strong items or skulls, no HP upgrades, no Dark Powers, and there’s a lot of big, targeted AOE and spam. End of Act 1 gives a big power boost.

No lies, one of my favorite items in hardmode is legit the Carleon Armor for that 15% dmg reduction along with the liferoot. Also the 1 cost blessing that gives 25% phys and magic for every inscription you have at least 2 of suddenly enables so many more builds, especially thanks to the ability to lock in 2 additional inscriptions at the market.

I feel act 1 is the hardest because it's when you're at your weakest in the game, but the enemies got upgraded to be just hard. Getting a first room "Ent Apocalypse" with its fire cannon, you can just lose half of your first life to a single combo. Getting to the first shop is the first challenge, and thanks to the Luck Measuring Device, you at least get stronger for the Adventurers fight (until you lose all your Quartz, which is a possibility!) After beating Yggdrasil, then you get to spend 6 Dark Quartz Hearts on upgrades, and then you're just preparing for the Hero, which is the real challenge of the game. One can just cruise through acts 2-4, and if they're not thinking about the final fight, it's possible to just lose to the second phase.

Hear me out, 2 new skulls, given by completing Difficulty 9 Dark Mirror. The Hero Skull, which has 2 possible evolutions depending on the abilities he has, Holy Hero and Dark Hero. Holy Hero being Magic based, while Dark Hero is physical. Hero skull has 1 ability that cannot be rolled off, being an Adaptive Damage Combo, which scales off the strongest of the two damage types. The Ability that changes will be the Magical Skill "Sword Rain" and the Physical Skill "Dark Decent", both being moves in the hero fights in their 2nd Phases. This way you have the ability to pick up the Hero skull and evolve him regardless of the run. bonus: If you have Hero and Skul skulls, they merge into 1 secret skull called "The Family" which allows you to have 3 Skulls at once. This allows Skul himself *To evolve alongside his dad and become "The Duo"* Still workshopping the skills for The Family, The Duo, and The Hero

Big sad :( PS: 29:48 that attack from Frieza here is not stopping bc its range, it is because it is hitting the ceiling. Even though that attack does have a range, but the range is quite large. The best way I've found to avoid it is just to hide behind a wall or any obstacle.

I think the cursed ability that gives you a chance to reset a status condition wound have been busted because you could possibly bleed someone to death with just 1 proc on bleed. If that's how it works I dunno not really tested it with bleed but I could see it working.

What i noticed is that Bleed damage is bssed on what triggered it, so Wolfy bleeds deal greater damage than bleed boy (the skill that inflicts wound when hitting) wich is interesting Btw Most DM 9 runs can leave you with low health at the beginning wich is interesting cuz you dont notice or think you already know everything there is to know but then the reality hits you with "look you know have 30 health HUE HUE HUE HUE!" Also Revenge is GREAT for survivability Ps, Magic Yaksha feel greater than phys Yaksha i managed to do one (full skill damage tho)

Hey Beelz. I am trying to get back into skull, but I am really struggling with eye soreness and fatigue. There is just too much happening on screen and yeah well. I don't think my brain can keep up. Do you have any tips or tricks? I am amazed at how people can just blaze through these kinds of games hour after hour. I have my screen dimmed as much as i can and i wear orange tinted glasses with anti glare to help me but still i struggle... xD Truely a first world problem i know! But still really annoying. Soo apparently the inscription for 4 piece bleed is incorrect or not working properly? And watching that leonia fight I think I can see it in action. until your knives get going you're not critting nore are your bleeds critting that often, but once you get to around 12 you start seeing the numbers turn yellow. I once believed it garunteed crits aswell but I had a run with 4 bleed including the cup and masterpiece blood shards right? I then saw "veiled mask" and thought "oh it's garunteed crits so this should pair perfectly." And it did not. My damage tanked and I was completely confused. So I asked around and the folks on the discord mentioned that it's worded poorly and that it merely enables them to crit. Veiled mask just flushed what little crit I had down the drain and killed 4 piece bleed all together.

I noticed that in 1st boost shop (after yggs) there was bleed curse, that will apply wound on first hit to the enemy, and decreases damage of bleed by 40%, was it not worth it, or did u just missed it (no offense im just curious, is it a bad curse ability or u just missed it)

Oh then may i ask 4 your opinion, if there were this curse jn the run, will it be worth to take it ( assuming that u have a grale) or not? I did a run with sword scull and that curse, but didn't have a grale, so i did manage to cut through enemy levels, but i barely did any damage to the first hero with it (after 5-6min i drained his health to half, and died shortly after)... &-& Upd: tnx 4 reading my comment and answering it, it really says a lot about content creator and his/hers relation to the auditory love ur content keep it up and feel joy while doing so! my question, to become a skeleton you need unfinished business, and a strong will, since the first hero's dying wish was to hang out with his son before him or his son died, but yet failed to do so, and also he has a strong will, will he be qualified to become a skeleton, or due to getting crushed by the palace after he died in the fight with skul, will he not become a skeleton, this would make some good plot if the father became a skeleton

First area is the hardest cuz the game gives the player power faster than it does the enemies. This is the only flaw in hard mode imo, making the player a little bit too powerfull and the enemies a little bit too weak

It is out. You can play it too, just join the Beta in your Steam profile. The update is live while in Beta form so the devs can get feedback. They just did a bug fix/update to the Beta already to adjust some early changes and problems people have encountered.
