It’s great to see such high praise for the Black Crowes in these comments. In my opinion they are a hall of fame worthy band.

Absolutely. I agree 100%. They have been my favorite rock ‘n’ roll band since the early 90s when I first saw them. Absolutely Hall of Fame worthy.
@carolynramirez1309 ай бұрын
Absolutely right. I agree 100%. They are from Marietta Georgia about 10 miles from where I’ve lived my entire life and I’m very proud of these Georgia brothers. In my opinion, they have been the best real rock ‘n’ roll band around for 30+ years. I never miss a hometown show. Have been seeing the Crowes live since 1992. The crows are getting better with age. I love to see them getting all the shine that they deserve.

I'm into my 50's now , I've listened to the brothers from the beginning, they've never compromised, their style , beliefs or their musical integrity,,for 20 plus years they've been doing the damn thing!! Because of life and some incarceration, I wasn't able to keep up with the brothers crow," but out of the blue,something said find them listen to them, and after seeing and hearing from them again, I felt gods fingernail scratching my soul again,and that ,my friend's is the essence of rock and roll!!! When this bands can deliver the same gut punch that it did 20 odd years ago, that's the hallmark of great music!!! As far as I'm concerned they are ,along with a handful of bands are keeping rock and roll alive in this country,and people need to show them a lot more respect for being genuine and not selling out, and staying true to their craft,, God bless you Robinson Bros!!!, It's been a pleasure listening to you, ,keep on walking that walk.....

I am an 18 year old kid from MD and the Crowes are one of my favorite bands. Very few kids my age understand true music and Before The Frost... Until The Freeze is an AMAZING album. Luther Dickinson blows me away! I saw these guys last year at Rams Head Live! and they were SPOT ON!
@chrishyde12164 жыл бұрын
I've not heard anything like Luther Dickinson's solo at 3.56. I'm unclear how he gets on his Strat to make that sound; it seems more than string bends. Also marvellous rhythm playing from Rich. Even more incredible is Chris Robinson's shirt, which changes from black to white and back. Love this album & film. Magical.

There is no such thing as a bad Black Crowes tune, live or in the studio. I've been listening to TBC for two days straight now and I'm floored. Yep, my fave band next to Zep and the Stones. Underrated, underloved, and that just fine. They're like me.

I love this... if they don't get it is buddy.. it is their loss. YOU get it. So much of the 'popular' music of today will be long forgotten in ten years, yet The Black Crowes will be around until they decide to stop, because the music they make is honest, pure, and real...

This is truely one of the best American rock n roll bands of all time; maybe the best of all time. The names and faces have changed a bit in the last 20+ years but this line up is UNREAL with unfathomable depth and talent. Like most legends, they just keep getting better with time and fearlessly doing it their way; no BS allowed. So rare and precious in these times. Truely amazing music. Thanx so much guys...
@hermosafish11 жыл бұрын
That sums it up. In my humble opinion they are undoubtedly the undisputed greatest rock band ever out of the U.S. There simply is nobody in their league. We are truly blessed to have had them in our lifetime! I waited and waited after Zeppelin's demise and wondered if I would ever be "saved" and then the Black Crowes came along. I felt like I had been delivered from evil. I'm not forgetting SRV. I view Stevie as a solo artist even though he had a great band.

I keep coming back to this... I liked this track, but to see it done really opens your eyes to how F'n tight this band is... Its one of those slippery loose jams, but they're locked into that groove, and tighten up along the way with little riffs... Love how Rich looks at Luther at the end of his solo and then they key on Steve for the finish. I say it all the time, but this is one of those rare bands where everybody contributes in layers man...

This whole recording session over that couple of weeks is great. LOVE the Cabin Fever DVD. I watch Luther Dickinson and Rich Robinson play off each other for the rest of my life. Those guys were so great together. I always wondered why they didn't invite Luther back out on the 2013 tour, but oh well, their loss. I know nothing about how to play a guitar and won't bore anybody with "greatest this or that", but I will say I dearly love the sounds that Luther produces with a guitar. Kills me that Chris killed this band. I wish he and Rich and Chris would get their shit together. I appears Chris ended it permanently this time. Damn shame.

Sometimes you get these special performances, for me, the MTV Unplugged stuff with Nirvana, Pearl Jam,Aerosmith etc, I think this performance although it seems unavailable on you tube, ( I do own a copy I just don't own a DVD player anymore!) is for me a thing of pure brilliance, very sad to hear the Robinson brothers seem to have parted company, love Chris but the music ain't there without Rich. Had the the pleasure of meeting the guys on a back street in Camden in the late 80's, still riding on it now! Last time I saw them was in Birmingham in I think 2013, a band that I can listen to over and over and never get tired of it, there ain't many bands that have that, for me anyway. A band I try and introduce to anyone I think deserves the luxury, if you don't love these guys you've missed out.

Top of their game. They're so good now they can pull off anything they like. There's a fucking disco number on Before The Frost and its the best disco number I've ever heard. Croweology is another case in point. They could do 5 more Croweologies and not run out of cool songs to do. There aren't too many bands who could run off 100 songs without throwing duds around. And they're getting better with age. Totally timeless, in a class of one. And Luther, thats a purple fucking heart man.
