One of her best songs. The song is about a relationship she had with a much older man when she was still a teenager. Now that she's older, she looks back and wonders what he was doing getting into a relationship with a young girl.

Maybe I’m wrong but i thought the song was about her getting molested by a family member, possibly a cousin? The lyric, “This could get messy, but you….you don’t seem to mind..”. That sounded like someone older molesting her, and not a relationship. Again, i could be wrong.

@@chrisolivo6591 The song is about a relationship she was in with a much older man who was in a position of power over her in the music business, her producer. The verses are from the male’s point of view and the chorus is from Alanis’ perspective. With that in mind, now listen to it again.

You REALLY, REALLY need to check out the Alanis (Morisette) that us Canadians were introduced to in the beginning of the 90s. This was the START of her big music career. Check out the song "Too Hot" - by "Alanis". She is in her teens here. You will LOVE!!! it Amber. It is RIGHT up (teen Amber's alley.) I personally loved it back then as a teen myself & STILL love it now, even though I like her retrospective Alanis MORISETTE music too. J. will really like "Too Hot" by Alanis as well. It may be from 1991 BUT it STILL sounds SOOOO 80s! You will both be surprised by how she looks. She is still recognisable from current Alanis Morisette, BUT...

There are still a HUGE ton of Canadian musicians & bands you still haven't heard. As for the females, for ANY day of the week (incl. Female Friday), you will need to hear (just as a START): Alannah Myles - Black Velvet (to start) - she's an 80s rocker, J. (THIS song is a great tribute to Elvis & probably her biggest hit.) Sass Jordan - Make You a Believer Amanda Marshall - Beautiful Goodbye - (other important songs, but THIS ONE needs to be your introduction) Parachute Club - Rise Up - (with a female lead) Susan Aglukark - O Siem - (she is a Canadian Inuit - or what you may know as "Eskimo" [which is actually a derogatory term]) - (O Siem is pronounced "O, See-em") (Always do the Official video with the above & in general too.) This is just a small starter list. We have SO MUCH MORE - with women, with men, with bands. *** With Halloween coming up - you SHOULD get back to & review FOR HALLOWEEN or just before/after another Robbie Robertson song - "Somewhere Down That Crazy River" **** For Amber esp., but also for 80s soul J. - another Canadian (male this time) - Gowan - "Cosmetics" - (you will esp. love the video Amber) - it is all SO 80s. Gowan had a string of hits in the 80s & also in the 90s. His sound is much more developed & grown up in the 90s (& it is great), but THIS one - is ALL 80s Gowan - (which was also good. J's favourite will probably be "Strange Animal" by 80s Gowan)

I love this track. 21 Things I Want In A Lover is another great track which opens the same album that Hands Clean comes from, but it's more rocky.
