I was born & worked in Tampa as a firefighter until we moved here to The Smokies 4 years ago! We still root for & watch our Tampa teams (Bucs, Rays & Bolts) from here in TN!

Haven't ever lived in Florida but a lot of our family live in that area so we go down there quite a bit but I've never been to beer can Island so that was pretty neat to see! Always got a root for the home teams!

A few Islanders live out there and charge people memberships to camp and do other stuff like Dock your boat and party out there or whatever. They got games and bathroom it was pretty cool! Thanks for watching!

Nice video. I lived in the Tampa Bay area over on the gulf side near Clearwater Beach. I was there for eight years. If you head over to the Gulf side I would recommend driving down Gulf Boulevard to “John’s Pass”. You’ll have water on both sides of you. John’s Pass is a cool little shopping and restaurant area in Madeira Beach. It was formed about 100 years ago when a hurricane cut through the land and made a pass between the Gulf and the inner coastal canal. I Highly recommend it. Enjoy your time in Florida.

I'm a local boater 70 years of age, my first time stepping on Beer can was 1964 a beautiful little island, that i inoticed right away how the locals kept it so clean ,that was they now I hear you must pay some kind of dues to go to the island. I had always thought the property owners through there taxes covered the little island never once thinking is would come up for sale . In this old salts eyes some things should just be left alone so more generations can see and do like so many others before them.

I see your point I'm not mad whenever Park services and stuff shut down certain trails because of vandalism or erosion or whatever. Some things should be left alone so it can bounce back. I heard this island was a man-made island?

It's really pretty. I could never see myself spending Christmas anywhere warm 🤣 I live in Georgia and it's usually 70° on Christmas day here lol. Pretty sure that island is eroding away they have to pay to keep putting sand there.

It was really cool we hung out on the island for a little bit and then took a tour around Tampa! Went down there to visit my mom. It pretty much was!

I guess because it's a local party Island so that's what the locals call it is really called pine key.
