Having seen MCR in concert 3× I can confirm that Gerard, the singer, goes from the screamo-type back down regular singing smooth as butter.

Thats a major cap bruh. xD He is not good, but not bad either. A lot can be done in post production... He doesnt deny it.. I was trying to find the interview where he says he knows his singing voice isnt the best (but i cant back my claim), but he adapted, and it worked. But anyways... He'd be like frozen butter typa s**t.. xD

I looked through the comments hoping someone would say what I’m about to say 😑 So, Gerard (dude singing), used to have horrible nightmares about his little brother dying. His little brother is the dude with the glasses

My chemical romance is my favourite band of all time. They have this theatrical feel to them that echos through their whole discography and goes the full scale of emotional. This song is from the album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, and the whole album is filled with bangers. Thank you for the venom is a little heavier and faster but i think it should be your next go to. the leap between the two shows the full scope of the band. honestly, just pick any song from their discography and you're gonna enjoy it. My personal faves are: Mama from The Black Parade, Headfirst for Halos from I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, To The End from Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge and Vampire Money from Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys

I'm an old dude70's 80's music. At 59, I saw MCR Raliegh PNC Arena. 2022. 3rd row floor. Seat not the pit. My conert high lasted a year. Even now it brings back that feeling. Seen many many great concerts in my life, all fade from memory in comparison to MCR. Music, vocals, message I can not describe. I found them in 2008 when my wife passed away. MCR is my addiction.

Watching this video hits way hard when you know that the army guy that got killed is the real life brother of the lead singer. Gerard Way is the lead singer and his younger brother Mikey Way is the bassist for the band.

This song is so freakin deep. The video makes me cry... I lost my dad in 2022, and his dad, my grandpa was in the Army as a young man. I don't think he stormed the beaches as depicted in this video but he did serve some time. The whole thing just stirs up feelings I didn't think I had yet like the conversations I'm never gonna have, just to be able to kick back and talk about the weekend or some project I'm working on with my dad, all the stuff thats been happening in my life in the last year and a half I cant tell him about or get his advice on... he was a stubborn fucker and just to be able to even fight with him and yell at him, that I can be mad about something and not have him there to be abrasive back against me, I miss that. I've lost people before but losing a parent, losing a dad is a whole nother level. If you still have yours, cherish them. Anyway, I'm just rambling about what kinda depths this thing took me to. It hits a little different to me now than it did when I first heard it like 8 years ago.

Recording vocals in parts is usually done because the artist wants to achieve a particular sound or overlap certain vocals, but 9/10 not because they can’t perform it live :)) No it’ll never sound exactly the same, but yes, after seeing it in person 4 times myself I can confirm the man can do everything he does on a record🤣 So cool to see you guys branching out, genre-wise! MCR are my favourite band of all time, they are severely underrated by older gens because of stereotypes associated w “emo” (which they aren’t), but that’s having a bit of a renaissance now anyways :)) Would second recommendations for “Demolition Lovers”, “Thank You For the Venom”, or “Helena” if you want another one with a video!

fun fact: the lead singer of mcr, gerard way, is actually brothers with the bassist of the band, mikey way, and was the soldier who got shot in this mv. during the filming of that scene gerard actually got really emotional on set and had to step away for a moment. he couldn't bare to see his brother "die". they have a really close relationship and gerard has even written songs about mikey. the song i recommended in my previous comment "helena" is about the death of their grandmother, and she really helped the band start out in their early years. just a bit of insight!

I don't feel like writing it all again, so I'll just say you should listen to their concept album Danger Days cover to cover as it was meant to heard.
