This lady had a hive of bees living in the siding of her home for over a year. Her landlord hasn't sent anybody out to relocate them and she is very allergic. So, she can't go in the yard and when she does go outside, it is straight to her car.
Due to this, her yard has gotten pretty out of hand. She hasn't been able to keep up or clean up from the hurricane a few months ago. Luckily, I drove by and noticed that her yard was in need of a little help.

I'm assuming she would not be able to. I would think that they would require that the home owner sign a contract saying that they aren't liable for any damages that they might cause while removing the bees.

@SB Mowing, contact the woman. Tell her to tell her landlord to contact a local beekeeper association (all states have one), they will come retrieve /rehome the bees for free. Then he can do whatever repairs are required. Be sure the area where the old hive is removed with PRIMER, it keeps bees from making a new hive in the same place!

The landlord is not only causing severe hardship for this lady. Thanks Spencer for your compassionate care. The bees (honey?) are glad to bee there but honey bees are absolutely necessary to our food production and should be “saved” from extermination. What a blessing. I remember my yard was overgrown. I couldn't afford to pay and was going to school full-time and working full-time I couldn't do it myself. A neighbor stopped by and asked my mo.whom was at my house watching my infant if he could cut my grass. She said yes. And he said just let her know it was the friendly neighborhood man named Jeff. Hello. I am Ann's visiting nurse. Ann has covid. She started coughing really bad and struggling to breathe. She turned 100 on Feb 7. She is in ICU. She has been on a ventilator. Doctor has been keeping her under sedation. She is demanding to go home and take care of her dogs. She is not well enough to go home yet but she is fighting. She asked me to write to you all. One of my favorite clean ups. I'm certain the tenant is over the moon with the results. As others have said, enough is enough with the bees. Gotta get that handled asap. Great job, man. Dude goes all over the place and straight up cleans drains for fun, and actively tries to encourage the proper agencies responsible to be a bit more proactive lol

You might want to find a local orchard and ask them about relocating bee hives. Sometimes they will pay for the bee keeper to bring a hive to their orchard because they need bees to pollinate their fruit trees berries etc.

SB Mowing, thanks for helping this person. Do you know what type of bees had made a nest? If they’re honey bees this lady may find someone that will remove and relocate the colony. Your video may get her some help by commenting to you. If you need to euthanize a wasp or bee colony you can mix Dawn dish detergent and spray it on them. One ounce of Dawn in one gallon of water works pretty good and of course you can mix it a little stronger. It’s so much cheaper that wasp or hornet spray.

carpenter bees are aggressive we had some underneath our stairs to our deck and anytime someone would use the stairs it was almost guaranteed someone would get stung. These videos are fun to watch you are doing an amazing job.

Love your videos, Spencer. I think the woman should look into getting a pro bono lawyer regarding the bees. They are a physical danger to her life. She could start by calling the police about it. This is also a danger to her close neighbors.

Hi, I am a beekeeper. Maybe this can help: one can buy a very inexpensive ($3) protective hat with a mesh, I never go close to my bees without at least protecting my face. My bees completely ignore me when I am weeding with a battery powered tool. I imagine they mostly react to the fumes generated by petrol engines. Don't be afraid of bees, just don't stand in the flypath and don't stay too long and close to their entrance :) Merry Christmas and cheers !

I draw the line with bees if they nest in or on my house. Trees, bushes, fine, but they get sprayed if it’s the house. Bees will eat into the structure like termites.

From the looks of it, the original siding is probably asbestos material. That may be why the landlord has not dealt with the bee problem. It will be very expensive to remove/remediate the siding to rid the bees. A lot of times you’ll see that plastic siding on top of asbestos siding because it doesn’t require any remediation.

i would have the lady contact the city about the landlord not removing the bees and her allergy to them or send a certified letter to the landlord she intends to contact a bee removal service pay them and deduct it from her rent as it is a great hazard to her safety.

My dad used to be a beekeeper. She could call someone who does that and they would be happy to remove them for her for free! Particularly those who are just starting and beekeeping they want to enlarge their hives and would be more than happy to remove them.

I enjoy your videos and watch at least a couple each week! Just a suggestion, I like the transformations of the houses that people actually live in more than the abandoned houses. I have to wonder if some of those neighbors that are by the abandoned houses actually think it’s better to have the greenery versus a very run down house.
