You inspired me to mow and trim my elderly neighbor's backyard last summer. We share an alley. She's alone and can't afford to pay anyone for it. It was a really small yard but it took me a long time. I'm in my 50s, disabled, and only have a push mower and cheap weed whacker. That damn grass was as high as my knee. The feeling I had afterwards, besides a bit of pain, was humble elation. I helped make a difference in her life. She said it was nice to know she still mattered (I cried after she said that), and her dog could walk in the yard again. Spring is coming... more kindness to sow, peeps!

When he mowed our yard, he mowed the yards of several elderly people for free. In the neighborhood we live in now, he mows our Nextdoor neighbors yard for him too. He says it was a lot easier back then when he was in his mid twenties. Now he is 66 and it’s not as easy on him but he enjoys helping people out. The Chernobyl area is a clear demonstration of how quickly nature reclaims abandoned areas. You can even look at the pandemic a few years ago to see evidence of that. Also, in Sardinia, a naval port basically shut down, and a few days later, there were fish and even dolphins.

So, you think the neighbors should have to constantly make up for the homeowner's negligence? Also, do you think SB does this 100% altruistically? Because if that were true, he wouldn't have a KZbin channel for doing these. I'm not trying to trash him or anything. I think he does a good job and is a good help, but I think you need to fix your perspective here. It's one thing to help the old lady next door with her groceries or mow your neighbor's lawn when they're on vacation. It's another thing to expect neighbors to maintain a lawn that's not theirs just because the owner CBA to take care of it. Maybe you should be complaining about the homeowner, who's actually responsible, instead of acting like others have a duty to compensate for the owner's inattention.

Awesome job!!!Meanwhile in Dallas: “crap,that’s my house!”

Probably more like “cool, someone else took care of it, I don’t have to be held accountable.” But a little shame would do the owner good.

I was watching this video before church and Spencer as always goes beyond the call of duty. Amazing transformation. Many blessings to you and your family especially for the growth in business for SB mowing ❤

That's not just an overgrown lawn, it's a beast of a lawn, and you are doing it ALL by yourself. You are the BOSS!!! Props to you!

Spencer shows that there is dignity in doing all kinds of work, especially in doing work like this, where there isn't even anybody to directly show gratitude for all this labor. Of course, we all appreciate the work that spencer does.

Why, oh why, can a city, issue citations for overgrown yards, BUT, when the city takes over the property, and then gives up on? Why, oh why, can't we fine them? Do as I say, NOT as I do? Congrats to St. Spencer. I know, but it sounded good. Everyone say, " Thank you Spencer. "

What I don't get is there are many homes with what look like well looked over yards, why as a community seeing this every day group together to do something about it. The world is lucky to have people like Spencer, Al, Kevin & Dad (lawncare juggernaut & Cabin on the hill). Hat off to you fella and all the other hard working fellas / lasses out there doing this kind of work for the better of communities.

Another great job,as usual.I bet those neighbours opposite were pleased with the result.

The city should rent out the driveway as a sod farm.
@momtrips678311 ай бұрын
Also, some enterprising person should develop an implement on the order of a push mower with a retractable horizontal blade to cut under thatched grass in spots like grown over driveways and curbs to save landscapers' backs.

Great job Spencer, the city is downright lazy and people living there in that area should tell them so.

The "after" shots showed the incredible amount of work you did. It looks so much better and now it will drain properly.

What a transformation. I can't believe that the driveway was actually turf. Good job, Spencer!

You made the neighbour very happy I'm sure. The old place looked like it needed TLC and you started it with cleaning up the lawn. It looks great now, plus you fixed the bad drainage for the neighbour. Great job Spencer.😊

Bravo! You and the "OTHERS" who helped make all the neglegted neighbourhood more habitable n no more an eyesore are "Supermen in Disguise"! Helping the Elderly n Disabled eases their incapabilities to manage their yard n you bring back the light in their lives seeing their houses are no longer a "bad example of neglected domain" in the neighbourhood. Good work! Should get a Merit for your good deed.

my guess is the contractor is billing the city but not doing the work.
@sheilamv10 ай бұрын
Or the city stopped sending the contractor out. If the bill isn’t being paid by the homeowner, can’t they property be sold to pay for what is owing?
@lilli6311 ай бұрын
The contractor gave up - Spencer didn't! Immediate result. 👏👏👏👏👏⭐️💛⭐️💛⭐️

I was wondering if these places you have cleaned up could be sold. If so, what are the restrictions to the lands, and if who owned them could retain you for your services to keep them up. You work so hard to make them presentable.
