Beeswax Semi-Transparent Window Ephemera

Hello friends,
Today, we are having a play with some beeswax pellets! I have done this before but thought I would do it again in case you missed it. This is very fun and easy to do. You will notice a difference in transparency depending on the images you use as well as the weight of the paper you print on. It is difficult to see in the photos, the level of transparency. It is subtle, but there.

These are Kool dear I used bees wax when I created a passport for one of my journals never thought about using in this way though so Kool will certainly try this 💖

These are just lovely! I've forgotten about this technique, so I'll have to make a pocket for my sample file. The stitching, BTW, is so great!!! TFS ♥ I just got back from a camping trip with some of my grands. They are all 4 teenagers, so it's not quite as 'busy' as when they were little. And their parents were there too.

Very fun and beautiful pockets ❤. I ended up getting a small craft iron to use just for wax. Love the feel of the waxed papers just for something different.

Enjoy your vacay with the grands!! These are amazing. Love the transparency of these!! I love the boat ❤ The scrap for the label looks like it could’ve come off the beach!! How does the bees wax hold up over time? They don’t leave a greasy or waxy residue?

Gorgeous! I love this idea!😍Even I would have a go at doing this method! My only question to ask myself is what would 20 Pound paper equate to in GSM Paper? I have trouble understanding the conversion tables for this sort of thing because I can't feel the weight or texture differences. I might talk to my local paper supplier & see if they can help me find something suitable. Just wondering Cara Renee, I am assuming the paper you are using is fairly thin & mat surface for "soaking in" as opposed to smooth coated like glossy for photos?🤔 Would love to give this a go if I can get the right sort of paper. Love how these turned out hon so beautiful 💜

I actually do most of my mixed media work on 65lb paper, which is 176 gsm 😊

Ugh, I tried to look it up but I can't find where I purchased it. I was a set with the pokey tool, a cutting blade, tweezers etc.

@@patriciataylor5527 you would get the transparency unless it was very light weight paper. However, I love the feeling of the beeswax even if the transparency isn't as good!
