A big thanks to all of you who have requested this tutorial over the years, and for your patience while I sort through a long list of tutorial requests :) I hope this helps give you some creative ideas for this piece. I wish you all the best for another great week of practice!

Thanks for mentioning an importance of noticing and analysing a key changing in a piece. That's something what may seem evident to a professional musician, but needs to be promoted on a broader scale.

I have actually finished learning Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata. Currently, I am working on his Moonlight Sonata and Josh's tutorial has really helped me a lot ( especially, the third movement ). The third movement tutorial is about a hour long and he really deals with bottlenecks, avoiding tension and good fingering in that tutorial. So, thank you Josh for that tutorial and this tutorial as well. Keep up your good work! 🙏

Wow, thank you so much!! I joined the lifetime access a couple of months ago (which I hugely recommend) and been practicing the first movement based on your lesson - and you kept the promise of making this video of the second movement!! What a pleasant surprise!

Such a Beautiful piece. Billy Joel used it as the basis for the chorus of ‘This Night’ from his Innocent Man album. This Night is Mine It’s only you an I Tomorrow is a long time away This night will last for ever

Hi Josh how do you recommend a 'previous' professional piano player start to build their piano skills back to that same point when they have dropped so far in every sense because it was half a lifetime ago?

Learning this. Voicing on measures 48-51 is killing me. Hard to have the melody come out on my small pinky and my teacher taught me how to cheat for that upbeat Db on measure 51.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart IDK what's Josh's availability, but normally one may arrange online lessons with nearly any piano teacher in the world since 2020's situation😅. Of course if you didn't die 229 years ago, that would be a problem indeed😂

Hey Josh! Since you mentioned some people attempt this as their first Beethoven Sonata, I was curious what your thoughts were on his op 49 Sonatas (I don't know if you have made a video on it)? I think they're 2 little gems that can prepare you a lot for his other works. Take op 49 no.2 2nd mvt for example. A beautiful little piece, which can greatly help people with expression, as well as the steady bass throughout the piece (Not sure if you can call that an Alberti bass? But you know what I mean :P). Or the Op 49 no.1 2nd mvt! A rondo which actually is fairly difficult, but can greatly increase your ability to 1. Play at a fairly high tempo, 2. Truly help a lot wiht staccato playing and 3. Even helps a lot with voicing during the Alberti bass parts, where you truly want the melody in the right hand to shine out. I have played both these pieces shortly after finishing 4-5 Bach inventions, and while op 49 no.2 is a LOT easier, I think they're even better than his Bagatelles for truly getting into Beethoven. Now I'm just getting into Mozart Sonatas (learned his Sonata K. 545, currently working on his Sonata K. 283 , perhaps some Chopin waltzes and Mazurkas, and after that I hope to get back to Beethoven Sonatas haha
