Hello Valentina, Yes, I remember. This 1st part made me want to learn piano at 57 years of age, now 6 years ago, It took me a year to nearly complete this 1st part up to halfway the last page, trying to copy you as good as possible. At the end I even could play it with my eyes closed. Need to take it up again and finish that last page. Thank you so much.. I would be lost without music.

the beautiful sensitivity of touch that Valentina has in this performance makes the opening movement seem to float so gracefully along, dreamily. Then, the 2nds movement so cheerfully wakes you back up, and says get ready for a quick (but adventurous) trip back home, and Valentina then pounces into that great, rush-home, final movement. I've never hear another pianist do *quite* the dramatic performance of this one. There are more than a few really great pianists out there, but for this particular piece, Lisitsa's performance is the most dramatic.

Dearest Valentina, I hope you are well and that you get this message. I saw you play live today in Brussels at Flagey for the Piano Days. It was incredible. You truly mastered Beethoven. You played for 1 hour and half. You ended with the complete moonlight sonata and an extra piece of Chopin(nocturne in c sharp minor). Both of those pieces are extremely special to me. We spoke briefly after your concert and I told you how amazing it was. You were very kind and gracious. I just want to say your interpretations are amazing. After the concert I stayed a while to enjoy the piano bar with a Jazz musician. I went outside and saw a beautiful church. Maybe this seems like a cliché but thanks to you I was able to enter and was able to confess to God and to the priest. I haven't done this since I was 12 years old. So my last confession was 22 years ago. I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart! Sincerely yours, Johan

Muitas vezes os músicos tocam o 1º e o 2º movimento muito rápido, o que faz perder bastante a graça da música, mas Valentina sente a essência, a profundidade da obra e consegue passar isso muito bem. Não canso de ouvir. Parabéns. 😍

Wow! To anyone who thinks that first movement is easy, I challenge you to get the legato Valentina gets throughout. Not easy at all. And thanks for making that second movement completely coherent and so easily understood. The third is of course monstrous in your hands. It all builds so splendidly. Bravo!

Eric Austin ye,even tho the third movement is the most challenging(from a technical point of view) the first movement has a lot emotion making it the hardest by far.Tbh lisitsas first movement isnt the best interpretation I have heard however the third movement is my favorite.

Yes, absolutely agree with you. Technically is not that demanding the first movement but all the nuances on each of its notes and the legato and emotion are supposed to transmit is definitely challenging,

The first movement is indeed not easy. You can check official grade for it on the net. It’s also a bit long. Everyone is just full of themself. I can barely play it correctly. I guess after 10 years of piano it will be easy. Also some have immense talent and tend to forget it...
