This interpretation of Beethoven's op. 132 took my breath away. It's played masterfully, all the instruments compliment each other without one dominating over the others. In my opinion, many western European quartet ensembles play excessively fast, but the Talich Quartet keeps a perfect tempo. I greatly enjoyed listening to this version.

Absolutely marvelous, right up there with the Capet and the Busch Quartet!

"I have the A minor Quartet on the gramophone, and I find it quite inexhaustible to study. There is a sort of heavenly, or at least more than human gaiety, about some of his later things which one imagines might come to oneself as the fruit of reconciliation and relief after immense suffering; I should like to get something of that into verse before I die." - T.S Eliot

Do you know when or where he wrote that? I don't recall seeing it in the biography I read. I presume you realize, but others may not, that the adagio of the 15th inspired his great long poem Four Quartets which won him the Nobel Prize. The greatest work of poetry I know.
