LK's "Paganini 24 Caprices" from 1994 is one of my favorite CDs. I think it is extraordinary.

If you've not already done so, check out LK's Sibelius Violin Concertos (original and revised versions) with the Lahti SO & Osmo Vanska on the BIS label. The revised version (i.e. the one we all know) is mind-blowing. The audio engineering by Robert von Bahr is excellent as well. I though I understood the Sibelius until I heard Kavakos. When he plays it, I can feel the cold wind blowing across the Finnish tundra.
