What a beautiful young lady. And a fine performance of a very technically challenging Beethoven composition. I'm sure she has a fine future ahead of her.
Miss Nagatomi, this is by far and away the best interpretation I've heard of what I consider to be Beethoven's most beautiful sonata movement. You have elegant phrasing and precise fingering, along with all the musicality required to interpret Beethoven's musical intentions. I hope you're planning to tour outside Japan!
i think all her interpretations are very pleasant to listen to. I never find anything wrong with any of her performances. she's a great pianist

Simply Stunning. Her feel and presentation are superb. Her parents must be incredibly proud of her. I believe she is only nineteen here. What a magnificent player she is,...... BRAVO!! BRAVO!!!!
Absolutely beautiful playing of my favorite sonata! Bravo!

Perhaps one of the best performances I've heard of this piece. Often times this song is played too quickly or too technically, turning out harsh or just unpleasant, but your playing was just so beautiful. Thanks for this music, and thanks for bringing back some old memories with this magnificent playing
@znraymond7 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Some pianist puts too much personal touch into it, makes it a not a Beethoven but the pianist. Excellent interpretation, like it.

When I see this beauty play piano, I really don`t care how good she is. She can play Beethoven and that is great enough. I just enjoy looking at her and think: if you are great pianist like Martha in the future, the world is really unfair ...

"Path" is the Greek root for feeling/suffering (like in the words sympathy, antipathy, apathetic, telepathy, etc.). And of course, Mozart was trying to convey suffering and emotion in this piece. :)

She didn't repeat the "Grave" (which some musicologists and pianists would see as the "introduction") - I believe it is not an "introduction", but to be repeated where she skipped it. One of my favourite interpretations/performances of Opus 13 nr 1 is by Freddie Kempf. But music is subjective and opinions over interpretation and even syntax will differ - that is why the language of music is Universal - for everyone to enjoy - to have and eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

And of course Mozart is not Beethoven, as some might say it, and the greek word is Pathos, not path (as the same ones might think) :) However, even in english the archaic meaning of the word was related to emotions, emphasis, affectation.
