Cutting the New Beetle to get it ready for the Smyth truck bed. Remember to leave extra headliner material beyond the cut, also remember to fill the rain channel in the rear so that the sunroof drains forward.

Building a sunroof car, what do I do with the sun roof? Is it getting disconnected from the electrical and staying stationary?

I imagine replacing the end with a magnet on a chalk line tool would be key for this project

I am just starting building this kit it is a non sunroof donor I wonder if you have a measurement you could give me from the top of the windscreen glass To the cut in the middle of the roof so know I am on the right track Looking forward to the build your videos are very good

from the metal ridge at the winscreen middle to the cut is 38.75" (a tape measure grabbing the edge of the metal roof)

Does the bed tie into b pillar at all? I noticed in the 4 door conversions you had that vertical plate that riveted to the b pillar, this model does seem to have this... I thought was a nice safety piece since the roof is cut off.

the 2 door cars have a huge b-pillar that does not require a plate. The cool thing about the Beetle is that the lower sections have factory braces already in place that greatly increase structural rigidity.
