Did my best to get this up in October but it took 13 uploads to please the YT gods and be playable! My Halloween and scary movie knowledge is super limited so it’s fun to watch new to me movies like this classic ✨

I'm glad YT is showing me some smaller channels. I hope this experience hasn't dissuaded you from more movie reactions!
@BeeWhistlerАй бұрын
Yeah, a lot of the reactors I watch have been shifting to shows because movies are getting so hard to upload. Oh! But if you find movies that are public domain, those would go better. They’d be old but there’s some classics out there.

The Day-O scene, where everyone around the table is possessed, must have been the Maitlands. They had summoned Betelguese, but hadn't yet 'struck a deal with them.'

Always felt bad for the spider @6:40 cuz Alec Baldwin is all "WOW! Look at this cool spider!" Then the lyrics Harry Belafonte is singing in the background go "You promise to love me the rest of your life!?"... and the spider is just unceremoniously chucked out the window. A spider that size would not fall that far unscathed :(

Danny Elfman used to have a rock / new wave / ska band called Oingo Boingo. If you listen to their songs you can hear a lot the dark Circus style that went into his movie scores. He still performs those songs live every so often, and lately has been doing it shirtless.. cause for a 70 something guy, the dude is, no joke, rather jacked 😂 he also wrote The Simpsons theme which has no doubt made him a bazillion dollars. He also wrote the lyrics and sang them as Jack on Nightmare Before Xmas (speaking voice was Chris Sarrandon, known for Prince Humperdink from Princess Bride)
@kanpai_kyАй бұрын
Ok wow I learned a lot! I often sing the line “all dressed up with no where to go” and didn’t make the connection at all. And now I can totally hear his voice singing Jack’s parts in Nighmare 💀 Thanks for sharing the trivia 😁✨

This @@kanpai_ky is a hard PG... it's rated pg when pg13 hadn't been used but was created and it's more of pg13 r rated horror comedy movie and the new one is the sequel!
@ahmedjacuzzi5494Ай бұрын
Also, Danny's brother directed a very low budget, raunchy, and amazing film called "Forbidden Zone", with Danny doing the music. The band Oingo Boingo originated with the movie, referring to then as "The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo." It's completely nuts and totally worth watching.

The dog, the damn dog caused everything. If the dog had not been crossing the road to make them go through the wall of the covered bridge and if the dog had not stepped off the board and let the car fall into the river none of what happened in the movie would have happened.

there is easter eggs that reference a nightmare before christmas and batman, especially the "attention k mart shoppers" scene The nice f’n model was a shot at the props dept, and was ad libbed by Keaton. The tree wasn’t supposed to fall. Tim liked it so much he kept it in the movie

Oh wow I didn’t know that. Sometimes the best moments are improvised! Thanks for sharing 😃✨

You didn't notice Jeffrey Jones by name, but you instantly recognized him when he showed up here. Ferris Bueller's Day Off is probably when I first saw him, although I do know him from several other movies. And one of them happens to star Alec Baldwin.
@CigarMickАй бұрын
The scene in the model cemetery when Micheal Keaton kicks over the model tree and it falls was suppose to go differently. Mr. Keaton improvised the scene because the tree was not suppose to fall over when he kicked it so the line he said and the crotch grab after the tree fell over was entirely off script. The director liked it so much he chose to leave that scene in the movie.

Man, I am very much on the religious side, and I love Halloween! Our church has a trunk or treat every year, and not even on Halloween (y’know, to keep kids from getting into trouble or whatever). No, we have it because it’s fun, and then people can spend Halloween how they want. A couple of families at church even had their own gatherings they invited people to. Spooky stuff isn’t a sin. You can have a line you don’t cross, and you should be respectful of the dead. But y’all… we all have a skeleton deep inside us. And Christians believe in spirits! 😉 And if it’s still too much, maybe read up on Dia de los Muertos. It’s such a lovely, warm, wholesome sort of holiday. Honoring the dead in your family! Edit: Also, this was the first time I’d seen Alec Baldwin and I thought he was super cute!
@0okaminoАй бұрын
Yeah, after all, it’s the Christian festival of All Hallows’ (or Saints’) Eve. Anything being ‘hallowed’ is very much in the religious lane. The stigma seems to stem from it coinciding with Samhain. Of course, Samhain also has religious significance, but of the old Gaelic variety.

The new movie is a sequel. Wynona Ryder and Catherine O'hara also return with Micheal Keaton as their characters. Wynona Ryder apparently made a deal with the Duffer Brothers that she would only work on Stranger Things if they let her schedule around the Beetlejuice sequel if it got green lit from what I have heard.
@0okaminoАй бұрын
Considering what 80s pop culture nuts the Duffer Brothers are (especially since they were only 6 years old when 1990 rolled around), I think it’s a safe bet that they immediately agreed to that condition.

Even in the 80s? I was a kid in the 1980s. The FDA had to remove Valium from Pharmacies because Doctors were worse than drug dealers. They were overprescribing. It was so bad that they were prescribing Valium to teenagers for anxiety. People could not admit that they were addicted to prescription drugs back then.

Thanks for checking out the Patreon. I just started this channel a few months ago and plan to launch tiered Patreon levels soon (Nov/Dec). I just don't want people to pay for content and not be able to meet tiered promises. I have a pretty demanding day job and I do all my editing (just started to learn editing too). I've tried a few editors and I ended up not using their edits. Hopefully the Patreon will enable me to hire an editor to release content more often. I do have all the Patreon versions already uploaded and private at the moment for when I do launch. There is a lot of content already recorded, movies and other shows and will launch when Patreon launches.

If you see the original, especially at a young age, a remake can almost never out do it, but I bet today’s kiddos would enjoy the newer version, maybe even more than the original.

@kanpai_ky I did grew up on the first one. And who cares about what the new kids think about they don't matter. That's where they ruined it.

The weird crappy Claymation monsters weren't due to the technical limitations of the 80s. Ray Harryhausen was doing better stop motion work in 1958. The look was pure Tim Burton. He wanted it to have an unsettling not right look, so he settled on it looking like they were animated by children. The people who did the work were the same ones that did Nightmare Before Christmas. It must have been actually difficult to make it look so bad.
@kanpai_kyАй бұрын
Tim Burton's animation aesthetic is certainly his own style and recognizable and I do enjoy. I had just rewatched "The Nightmare Before Christmas" before watching this movie. And after this movie I saw his animation in an Oingo Boingo music video with Danny Elfman thanks to the comments on this page.

@@kanpai_ky There's nothing corny about the movie. You don't understand what constitutes corny. But then, you're using the phrase "dad jokes" and that's a construct of the zoomers to roll their eyes when someone tries to lighten a mood with a pun.
