The inventor (Vincent Price) is probably best known today as the narrator in Michael Jackson's song, Thriller. The mom (Dianne Wiest) was the preacher's wife in 'Footloose'. The dad (Alan Arkin) was the grandpa in 'Little Miss Sunshine'. The son (Robert Oliveri) was one of the kids in 'Honey I Shrunk the Kids'. The boyfriend (Anthony Michael Hall) was the geek in 'Sixteen Candles' and the brain in 'The Breakfast Club'.

I think the message of this movie was a bit ahead of its time. Being different can make you loved or hated and sometimes the line between the two is paper thin. People romanticize and even fetishize difference to the point of ignoring the person underneath

I watch pretty much all of the reactions to this movie. And I appreciate you put in different cuts. For example, everyone else shows Edward dropping a piece of meat in the daughter’s lap. But in this one you decided to go with the cookies as currency discussion between the dad and the boyfriend. I haven’t seen that part in forever. Ha ha.

It's like everyone's playing the opposite of what they were known for at the time: Johnny Depp - pretty boy to scarred up Frankenstein boy, Winona Ryder - weird girl to popular girl, Anthony Michael Hall - high school nerd to high school jock, Vincent Price - psychotic mad scientist to nice mad scientist...

I highly recommend reacting to Batman the Animated Series - inspired by Tim Burton's art style, also scored by Danny Elfman with the amazing Kevin Conroy, the best voice of Batman ever :) Nov 10th marks 2nd anniversary of his death. You're absolutely right Maple! Winona was an icon back in the day. There was always a debate in the early 90's of who was the Queen of Halloween. Winona or Christina Ricci? Both were absolutely the best! I know a lot of people won't remember this movie but check out Lucas (1986), it's not Halloween themed but Winona is in it and it's the earliest I can remember her being in a movie. Much love ❤️ keep the reactions coming

I love this movie so much. I was 19 the year this movie came out. I am so glad I got to see this in the theater. The music was amazing; I especially love the music for the ice dance scene. That scene was so beautiful and the music made it more so. There are two reasons this movie has a special place in my heart. For the legendary Vincent Price, who played The Inventor, this was his final film role before he passed away, so I am glad I got to see his final film role in the theater. The second reason this movie is so special to me is that this was the first movie I ever went with a girl to see. As for the way the houses looked in this movie, I lived in Florida for several years, where they filmed this movie, and there are plenty of houses like the ones in this movie. The selling Avon bit made me laugh a little because my mom sold Avon from the time I was a little boy until I was in my early 20's. Winona Ryder was great in this movie and so beautiful. She still is.

However big of a fan i am of his unfortunately it was mutual abuse. There was an email from 2013 that amber wrote talking about being hit by Johnny. There are many texts associated with the kicking incident, apart from the mention and implicit acknowledgement by Depp in the audio that he kicked her. It happened. If that happened, one can wonder what else did he do. One was the Stephen Deuters kick text where Deuters said that he would tell Johnny he kicked her, the next was Johnny Depp apologizing after being told, and the other was Johnny admitting to acting out to Paul Bettany, saying that he had attacked her with little instigation from her side.
