One of my all time favorite movies ever. My first ex-wife and I loved it so much we drove to Vermont to where they filmed the exterior shots of the house. We found the lot but apparently they built the house for the movie so it wasn't there when we drove by. It was a lot of fun to try finding it.

Death Becomes Her is a very underrated movie imho. And I loved The Frighteners. I've always described Gremlins as a horror movie with a sense of humor, and Gremlins 2 as a comedy with a sense of horror. Honestly any of the decent Roald Dahl movie adaptations would be good watches. The Anjelica Houston Witches. Definitely Matilda (devito is the one I mean, but I've heard the musical is good too, just haven't watched it yet). James and the Giant Peach. But most of all--the Gene Wilder Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (based on the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But the movie that actually has that name is one where the Burton/Depp take just REALLY misses the mark).

This is a comedy. It's INSANE to me how many people in this era can't understand this. I grew up in an era where comedy was mixed with more "serious" content (dark comedies, horror, dramas with comedic parts), so I understand when something is mainly a comedy. All the living people in this house except for Lydia, suck (the actors are fantastic (especially Katherine O'Hara). The dad figuratively and literally pushes his daughter away at every turn, the stepmom cares only about what other people think about her, Otho is a total narcissist. They're all money-hungry, self-absorbed, and ready to exploit.

I mean the indiana jones movies have action some thrilling moments and usually involve him fighting off the nazis so they cannot get their hands on major level powerful religous artifacts. They has some good comedic moments too. I figure if they are good enough of a franchise to have their own lego game they should be alright to watch here. I wouldnt mind seeing how you fair with the movie "Killer Clowns from Outer Space". Its just one of those ridiculous concept movies with jokes so outside the box it makes you think "who comes up with this stuff". If you liked the chaos of the gremlins you might like them. Although be warned if you have a fear of clowns this wont help lol.

not just A journalist... Hunter S Thompson... Gonzo... one of the most intriguing people to ever exist. His autobiography Kingdom of Fear is one of the best books I've ever read... there are multiple times when you have to put it down to be like, "how does someone come up with this shit", and then you remember it's not fiction and it blows your mind. You also get a great look at his friendship with Johnny Depp that started with the making of Fear and Loathing and ended with Johnny Depp spending millions on a ceremony where he shot Hunter S Thompson's ashes from a cannon...

What you saw is a Tim Burton movie and they are usually the same. They are strange, weird, dark and gothic. Often they have a character like the daughter Lydia involved. They main themes often involve death, paranormal and other dark subjects an making them more normalized. These things are scary at first but once you get see it more and understand it they may be strange or weird but they are not bad.
