I saw the original Beetlejuice in theaters back when it came out. It was fine. The crowd absolutely LOVED the part where they're all forced to dance around the table to that one song. I didn't get it, but the rest of the crowd could not be contained at time, it was the funniest thing they had seen in their entire lives. I thought the dude with the shrunken head was pretty funny. But that was it. Never had an urge to watch it again. But I did like maybe 6 years ago, and it was... fine. This new movie looks... fine. However I do take issue with the shrunken head guy taking up what appears to be way more screen time than he should. It was a funny throwaway gag in the first, let's not ruin it. It feels like they are saying "Hey! Remember this guy? REMEMBER? Wasn't he funny? Here is is again! Remember?? Do you remember???" Kudos for switching seats regardless. PS - are you using noise cancelling on your mic?

Yeah, I mean…it’s not classic cinema, but I’m such a huge fan of Michael Keaton that it’s hard for me not to want to see him ham it up. I do have a noise gate set up…why do you ask? I pride myself on my audio, so if there’s something that doesn’t sound right, I want to fix it! Edit: yeah, the shrunken head dude is a little bit of that, sure…but I didn’t mind it here, but now you’re making me think that yeah, there is a little bit of that elbowing in the ribs thing…

@@order42show I can just hear some artifacting around the beginning and ending of sounds that result from noise suppression. It's hard to hear if you don't know what to listen for, but the best way I could describe it is a bit of "mushiness". If you want to learn what it sounds like, take a bit of your raw speech (no noise gate applied), put it in an audio editor, crank up the noise suppression all the way and just listen to what that does. Then you'll hear it very minimally in your videos. It's not as bad as audio ducking, where it just ramps up and down the volume if the person is speaking or not. That's REALLY distracting! With your noise gate, only nitpickers like me can tell. :)

Hmmm…yeah, that cutoff may be too aggressive. I might actually turn that down or off now. I don’t really need it as much as I used to…

Wow I didnt know Beetlejuice vame out in 88! I was born late 87 and remember the first movie being one of those VHS tapes I'd watch every vouple months. So many memorable parts in that movie when you're watching it as a young kid. That scene at the beginnig where the car falls into the water hit me hard.
@order42show3 ай бұрын
I was 12 in ‘88, so it didn’t hit me that way, but I can definitely see how that could be scary if you were younger. This one, too…it actually seems a bit more adult than the first.

You would have seen Jenna minus one leg below the knee in Iron Man 3 as Miguel Ferrer's daughter. I lowkey recommend her in the Wednesday series, it's very much a Burton take on that kind of Harry Potter/Young Sherlock Holmes style larger mystery in a boarding school setup. I will watch this but not in a rush to, my favourite characters aside from Lydia were the newly-deads, that film was very centric around the couple with Keton in more of a supporting role. I'd be worried Beetlejuice contains a bit too much of his crassness.

I only saw Iron Man 3 once, so I probably wouldn’t have remembered anyway, but I didn’t know that! Wednesday has been something that others have suggested, I just haven’t gotten around to it. When it comes to Beetlejuice’s crassness…you are not far off! It’s one thing I failed to mention in my review. This one, while I think it’s funnier than the first, it’s also much more adult in tone. The humor is darker, and I could actually see some being disturbed by some of the visuals here. He’s still not the main focus, but he is in it more than the first, for sure.

I saw the movie last night, i had fun watching the film, i get what you mean about the story, but the characters and comedy totally make up for it. and yes, there a group of 4 people talking on and off on the far left side and i was sitting in the middle as well, was starting to get annoyed. overall l enjoyed it.

I just don’t understand why someone would pay for a ticket to talk through it! Ugh! But glad you enjoyed the movie!

@@order42showalright, here’s the deal…. Movie was ok, the different types of scenes they pulled off with the animation and colors. Not bad. But the “villains”… they just off’ed them way too easy. Overall the beetlejuice vibe was there and ramped up. The Danny devito cameo was funny. 😂
