This tutorial was great! I made it to wear for Beetlejuice the musical! It took me about 10-15 hours (I did have to restart after 2 hours and it was the second clothing thing I’ve ever made [I have made plushies but no clothes] and definitely more complicated than the first) it came out great!!

Wait why did you just tell my story? Just joking but litterly same I wore it to beetlejuice the musical and it’s my second peace of clothing 😂

I'm also making this to wear it for *a community theater* Beetlejuice the musical (like actually as an ensamble member if they let me wear it) 😂

That’s awesome! Congrats! I’ve made a couple basic shawls, headbands, and winter hat… what’s the difficulty level of this? I’ve never made a clothing item and just stumbled across this awesome page! She makes beautiful things and idk where to start

I just finished mine. Im so happy with it. Thank you so much for sharing this pattern. The instructions were so easy to understand. I didnt get flustered and quit. I just kept going, trusting the process, and we got thru it together! Thank you so much. I cannot wait to show this bad boy off. Also side note Ive been on a weightloss journey and this is the first crop top ive worn since losing a lot of weight. Its the 1st time I felt confident enough to wear aomething kinda showy. So, thanks Sis.

PSA for people who ran out and got the glow yarn like I did: I started making mine using the same yarns shown in the video (except the green), and idk if Lion Brand is having quality control issues or what, but my white glow yarn is noticeably thinner than the black Sugar n Cream yarn! They both say weight 4 on the packaging, but it causes the white rows to look thinner than the black rows. It seems like using a tighter tension on the black and looser with the glow yarn helps, but I’m too paranoid about flashing someone to do that on the bra cup part lol…I’m compensating by changing tensions for the non-bra cup parts and doing symmetrical bra cup coloring so they end up the same size

The Lion's Brand Glow in the Dark is more of the same thickness as the Lion Brand's 24/7 cotton yarn. The Sugar n Cream is definitely thicker and coarser. I am going to us the Lion Brand's Chenille DIY Glow for the neon green trim. I am super excited about it!

Yeah I noticed a difference in how the weight felt while I was making the top in this video but I just kept rolling with it, it seemed to work fine for me!

It’s because the glow in the dark yarn is polyester and the black is cotton. Hope this helps. Acrylic yarn sometimes is super sift and thinner too.

I made a Beetlejuice colour inspired bag to use at a convention, my husband suggested I make a top to go with it. I then remembered I already had, using this tutorial! I frogged the green I had used before and used a neon green instead. I also used a purple for the ties. I will definitely be wearing this to go see the new movie! All you're tutorials are fantastic

just made this to go watch Beetlejuice II- probably my favourite piece so far! here are my notes: i'm a 2/3xs, but crochet quite tightly, so my bra cups ended up with about 18 rows (so 9 stripes, including the part in the centre). for the bit underneath, i did an extra stripe of each colour (i have a short torso, but, again, crochet tightly). with the scallops, mine looked quite small at first so instead of the 4hdc, i went with 2hdc, 2dc, 2hdc for each. i extended the green part at the back, where the lace up is, as i didn't like how much back i had exposed. this is how i did mine: 3 row sc, 1dc, 1sc, 1dc and then the lace up loops, which instead of being one stitch apart, i had two stitches apart. the gap at the back is 2-3 inches wide. anyway, that's all, and thank you BJax for this lovely design! edit: this was also a really quick piece. i did most of it on a plane and it only took a few hours.

This has been a fantastic first(ish) crochet project for me so far, thank you for the tutorial! I'm really excited to finish it :) I haven't done any crochet since I was like 6 or 7 (and even then that was really basic little bracelets), but I'm a knitter which helps a little bit.

Do you have a size chart on any of your videos? Like when you say S, M, L XL do you have a set size, like 34 is a M for example?
@shevelkindesignsАй бұрын
If we decrease for the cup like you suggested for M and larger sizes, should we add those stitches back in for the bottom torso section? This way it doesn’t make the torso section smaller? Except for keeping the one decrease you added.

How long would you say this took you? I have been crocheting for a few years but my grandma taught me, and only taught me one stitch. I have only been doing small projects and I finally attempted something new, which was a top. I did not watch a tutorial and this really helped me realize what I was doing wrong! Thank you so much!

Hi I hope you still answer comments. I have a question about the torso extending part for size. XL. I did the chain 11 to start, but as I kept going, it looks too short for my side. Should I go back and make a longer chain, or should I go back and loosen my tension. Or does it sort itself out after the bordering and the lace up part in the back come to play. Thanks in advance. Also a written pattern I would pay for. lol
@meh_8116 күн бұрын
hi, i'm a size 2/3xs but crochet very tightly and extending that chain shouldn't affect things too much, as long as you're consistent! i stuck with the ch11 but extended the green part that goes on the end with a few rows of single and double crochets as i wasn't a fan of how much back i would have had exposed. i know this was a month ago, but i hope this helps!

11 chains for all sizes? With all respect my waist is 20 cm longer. I have belly. I'm not really sure. Are there any person who have xl/xxl sizes and made this top? Share you experience please 🥺
@kailamarie4912 ай бұрын
I added 20 chains so in total 31 chains from the bra cup. Worked perfect for me and im a size 2xl

im an xl/xxl and i did 21 chains so that way i had room for the lace up part in the back but wasn’t too exposed
@Paraphim10 ай бұрын
2:05 what if I don’t have the same amount of stitches? I’m making a large so I have fifteen stitches to start, but then on the other side, I have eleven. If I continue to crochet, I would start to go into the first row Also, instead of one end being flat and the other end being curved, both ends keep ending up curved? So I’m just making an oval? I’m not sure why that’s happening
