This means that if they cant even afford to pay the Winter Gardens a couple hundred thousand, how are they going to afford transporting all of their set, equipment etc? As a huge fan from the UK, I’m praying they do a professional recording of the show and it to be put on Netflix or something similar.

They dipped below a certain threshold of how much they can make per 2 weeks back in summer (as per their contract with the theater) when business was slow. Then it had a big boom in popularity during fall, but sadly the contract still stands. They are being evicted because of that, they are doing amazing right now, on the financial side of things at least!

One of the things that have been getting me down the most is that I never got to see the original production of this show! Even without quarantine I wouldn’t have been able to afford the 1000€ or so round flights AND the theatre ticket but the cast and producers interactions with online really meant so much to me! Getting to listen to the set designers talk about creating the set and hearing how they created such a mystical, unpredictable world on a stage really made up for it.
