People don't understand it it's sad. I love Presley way to do Lydia, with the kind of "sass" and "fake obliviousness to see your limits" that reminds me of the Cartoon version. Will's Beetlejuice is more suave, more "I insert creppy things onto a cool offer and it's random" and it's amazing! Y'all need to understand that without them, the show wouldn't go on when Sophia/Alex's sick, in vacation etc.

Let’s make this very clear here 1) the understudies work just as hard as the originals and don’t sound the same because they aren’t the same 2) Will and Presley bring their own takes on Lyds and Bj so leave their energy and acting alone 3) understudies deserve love too even if they aren’t perfectly like the original

Erin Smith well typically the original is better whether by vocals or just fitting the character. So when the audience doesn’t get the original, they feel like they haven’t gotten the best option. Not dissing understudies, I think they do an awesome job. Just stating that they are understudies for a reason.

Absolutely! I went to go see the show in January and, as someone who’s extremely fond of the OBC, I was disappointed when Alex announced that he was not going to be at the show. I got to see Will Blum, and he was the highlight of the show! God, I loved him! He was just fantastic. I returned the very next day to see Alex while I was still in NY, and I actually preferred Will’s portrayal. It’s so charming.

@@Orion3101 not necessarily, like everyone in the show (with the exception of Adam) wears a wig, so as long as they can wear the wig for that character (i.e Lydias Short Black Hair, Beetlejuice’s Purple/Green/Red Hair, Delias Top Knot etc) and the costumes then it’s completely fine
