Lovely work, both the case and the sound! Less is very often more, with modular work. This is, after all, music making, not Pokemon.

You got some great sounds from this creative enclosure exercise, when completed. Thanks for almost always providing me with some inspiration of some flavor or another. Hey... even when I don’t get inspired... I have some fun. Golden ! ! ! It’s super Cool that you get to do sounds n such for a cartoon! That’s a big deal in my opinion! Bye

Did you make the little knob attached to the yellow patch cable seen at 6:13? Do you have info on making one?

Yes, it's an attenuator. I explain how to make them here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4usfIh7ncqdg7M

Hi! I use a 12v DC supply that used to belong to a Hard Drive. Check out the specs at Befaco's page

Hey Quincas, I have the same hexagonal passive floating mults that you use in the Aquarius. Mine are stereo. Is there any chance that stereo could short the circuits or are ok to use in eurorack?. Blue is the Aquarian colour, by the way. It matches the concept ;). The final jam is fantastic!. Do you have bandcamp or similar?
@QuincasMoreira6 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yeah, mine are stereo too, you're fine, works just as well :) Yes, this is why I named it Aquarium, after I saw the finished box all in blue! Glad you like the jam! Here are my Bandcamp and Soundcloud links: quincas.bandcamp.com/music soundcloud.com/drdubastein/electrocumbia soundcloud.com/synthdiyguy

You're scoring a cartoon series?! :)
@QuincasMoreira6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's my actual job, composing for film, commercials, television, sound libraries, etc... It's a web series to promote a kind of big kid diaper, for kids who no longer wear diapers but still wet their beds at night... Fun stuff, I did all of the sound design with the Aquarium!

I think I just saw my future eurorack power) Either this or their jumpskiff kit. How do you find it in terms of quality - good, clean, or medium-you-get-what-you-paid-for?
@QuincasMoreira6 жыл бұрын
Actually, surprisingly good! No noise, no fluctuations, no crosstalk... So far so good, much better than other DCDC converters I've used.

@QuincasMoreira4 жыл бұрын
yes! a few months ago, i replaced the DCDC converter with the 30W one that comes with the Befaco Excalibus. Just to have some extra juice, not that this one was struggling at all :)

Nice build! I recently built à case myself and struggled with precisely placing holes for the rails... The screw heads are too big and step on one another a little, that is really many unplanned parameters to take into consideration !
@QuincasMoreira6 жыл бұрын
Totally! The metal brackets I used for measuring were super important. If I'd had 4 I would have used them in the case, but since I only had 3, at least I could use one to make sure the measurements were correct!

Synth Diy Guy believe it or not, doepfer's 84HP rails are shorter than eowave's 84HP rails... I noticed it trying to expand doepfer's A-100 6U DIY to a 7U

the nice thing about standards, is that there are so many to choose from! LOL
@Neurotypique6 жыл бұрын
Synth Diy Guy 19 inches should remain 19 inches everywhere though...
@QuincasMoreira6 жыл бұрын
I'm joking of course... Doepfer sets the standard, I think Etherwave gives you a tiny bit extra just in case. Easy enough to file it off I guess :)
@NiamorH6 жыл бұрын
maybe putting the rails higher (not so deep inside the case) would have been better for accessing pots and jacks more easily near sides and corners?
@QuincasMoreira6 жыл бұрын
Actually the sides don't get in the way at all, it's super playable as it is. And having the raised sides protects the knobs, during transport and in case the rack falls on it's face. It was a conscious decision to do it this way :)

Hey! How do you screw the voltage regulator? To me, it seems that the holes are too close so either i can't screw it or can't place his legs in the holes. Any idea?
@ardakaniz27404 жыл бұрын
Also, i have a 2.5mm connector but it doesn't get in, what should be the outer size? 🤔
@QuincasMoreira4 жыл бұрын
try bending the legs 90% with a pair of pliers so they go through the holes and the screw hole lines up.
@QuincasMoreira4 жыл бұрын
Most my standard barrel connectors here fit. The Rackbrute PSU for examples works fine. Check the specs on that in the Arturia site.

@QuincasMoreira6 жыл бұрын
Hi! It's not a module, it's a standalone pocket scope I built from a kit: www.aliexpress.com/item/Original-2-4-TFT-DSO150-15001K-DSO-Shell-Oscilloscope-Diy-Kit-Pocket-Digital-Oscilloscope-Learning-Kit/32845489951.html?spm=2114.search0204.3.25.25d9197b6bveyJ&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_2_10152_10151_10065_10344_10068_5722815_10342_10343_10340_5722915_10341_5722615_10696_10084_10083_10618_10307_5722715_5711215_10059_308_100031_10103_10624_10623_10622_5711315_5722515_10621_10620,searchweb201603_2,ppcSwitch_5_ppcChannel&algo_expid=68dca499-bb32-4012-a52e-7661122a7688-3&algo_pvid=68dca499-bb32-4012-a52e-7661122a7688&priceBeautifyAB=0

Synth Diy Guy does it easily connect or do I need Adapters to audio?
@QuincasMoreira6 жыл бұрын
it comes with alligator clips, which you can clip to the end of an audio cable. I just made a special cable with a proper audio jack. You really should het into soldering, makes life better ;)
