I don't find it ethical to document online a kid's dental issues just to have content on your chanel (especially for a sponsored video). He is young, not grown up enought to make an informed decision on wether or not it is wise to have personal details on the internet (wich is to say forever). A kid may be ok with appearing in a video and sharing personnal info today, but may find it disturbing in the futur that his parents did not take every measure necessary to protect his personnal life while being YT personnality themeselves, or worst, made money from sharing their personnal info online... Your chanel is not about vlogging your kid's life for money so I won't make a fuss about it, but I hope you will consider this issue in your futur contents and sponsored contents most of all.

My daughter had braces in elementary and Invisalign in her early to mid teens and has a beautiful smile in her twenties. She has a retainer that keeps her teeth in place. Anyone who gets braces or Invisalign needs to understand that there is maintenance. If you have gaps, teeth can shift. Do your maintenance and maintain a beautiful smile. 😄😄😄 Much love!!!!

@@bpxl53yewz29 i dont think it is ethical To show à kid in à video (his face, his personal détails, even mentioning his name) for money. Ever. If the content of this video was not sponsored this kid dental history would not have been shared online. Of course he is willing To be in front of the camera but he is not of âge. Kids his age are not allowed To work or drink or manage money. So They should not be held responsible (by their consent) for the online présence their parents put them through so that THEY can make money. Thé money earned through this partnership is made by exploiting à kid dental history and documenting it online. I hope the revenu of this video are put in a trust fund for him. (Since without him, the vidéo would not have been possible.) Parents should protect their kids interests, not use them for money hoping that the kid wont resent them in the futur
@zibzib065 жыл бұрын
@@bpxl53yewz29 of course it is a moral issue. My critique does not concern all of her content but this video in particular. This video would not have been à sponsorized content without the kid. His personal data (dental data) is the focus of the sponsorized content. The personal interests of the kid (that would be not to have personal info on the internet as it might be detrimental in the futur) is set aside in order To benefit the adult (the adult earn money). I agree that The risk for the kid is slim since the data shared here are not toooo sensitive but it could be. And parents should protect their kids. Not benefit from them being (even sligthly) exposed. So yes or le à moral issue

@@zibzib06 She was going to make this video anyhow, with or without her son in it, with or without Invisalign. She would then have made money, without her son, so to me that is a moot point. As far as Invisalign goes, she mentioned that they got the product for free, in exchange for reviewing it on her channel. This does involve her son. He obviously gave his permission, as I can't imagine her forcing a teen boy to do anything he doesn't want to! LOL! Her son profited from the Invisalign company by getting their treatment, and Mom and Dad's bill was either reduced or free, a win-win for all!

We just havent gotten around to those things yet, plus we didn't want to get a new sofa until the kids stopped standing and jumping on it (hmmm, they're 13, 9, and 7...still waiting....). I had Invisalign and it was the best decision I’ve made in a while. Unfortunately I failed to use my retainer as I should have so my teeth shifted back a little. But that was all on me, it in no way reflects negatively on Invisalign. I’m considering getting them again which should tell you just how satisfied I was with it. It’s a bit pricey thought so it might be a while before I’m able to.
@ThriftDiving5 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear you had success with it, though! We're finding it super easy. Not sure if you know this or not, but there is a Dental Monitoring app that goes with it now, so instead of going to the ortho weekly or bi-weekly, you simply scan your teeth with an app and it sends the pics to the dr. They tell you if it's time to move on to the next aligners. LOVE that feature. And I've heard that Invisalign is comparable to regular braces. I haven't gotten quotes on the regular braces, though. I like the ability to skip dr. visits, too! How long did they tell you that you've had to wear the retainer? I am thinking it might be 2 years, but others have said it's even longer. Lifelong, perhaps??

@@ThriftDiving I didn't know about the app feature. I had them around 6-7 years ago so I also don't remember how long I had to keep the retainer in. I didn't even have to see my dentist twice a month since I knew when to exchange my trays. I used to see him maybe once every 2 months or so.

Our house had good bones, but had tons of wallpaper, outdated toilets, etc., and because it was so overwhelming, I started disliking my house and the way it made me feel stressed and scared that something would happen to the home and the amount of time it would take. It has been 9 years now and I FINALLY am feeling comfortable here. Give yourself time. It takes time, seriously! :) Good luck!

When I first saw the color you were painting it with, I was like "um, no" but then finished it was great! Good job.

Girl! That kitchen is everything!! As long as you feel good when you walk into that kitchen that's all that matters. Keep up the great work, love from PA

I am simply AMAZED at how you were able to work dental work into your content LOL! I have a 13 year old son too and I really enjoyed watching you work with your young man (and loved when he tried on the light fixture as a hat....boys 😂)

HAHA, I know! The epiphany came to me at the end, after complaining to my mom about not feeling like I had "done enough." And when she commented on the small changes, it hit me: it's the small changes that matter, no matter the type of makeover: a room....teeth....an exercise program...It was a huge lesson for me! :) Glad you liked my boy!

The kitchen looks great! I get it, it's hard as heck to install those brackets sometimes. You need lots of upper body strength! Lol! I had metal braces 44 yrs ago. The new way is great!
