+vinesauce Talented? No doubt about it. EXTREMELY underrated? Not exactly true. Mr. Hoskins was quite a popular and loved actor back in the days, but he just made some not so good movie choices, especially the infamous Super Mario movie (this is one of the prime examples how a bad role choice can do a lot of harm to your career). I specifically remember how he got trashed a LOT after the Mario role, even though it wasn't his fault (the whole production was a mess). But generally the audience was very disappointed, that he had starred such a bad movie and sold it with his name. He has also been recognized with lot of nominations and awards thru his career, including a Golden Globe, BAFTA and Cannes awards. So he did got also critical recognition. Sure, he was hard to market for that permanent "A-list" status, especially as Danny DeVito had already filled the void, so to speak (although Bob was a WAY better _actor_ IMO and in hindsight I kinda don't understand why people even compared them) and because he had chosen roles in films, that then flopped.

I always loved that Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse seemed to be close friends while Donald and Daffy were enemies. Just think it’s brilliant that the two studios came together and thought about how their characters would get along together hypothetically and made it all work.
@jmhorange2 жыл бұрын
Actually one of the reasons Bugs is with Mickey and Daffy with Donald is because Warner Brothers requested equal screen time with Disney cartoon stars as a condition to allow those characters to appear in the movie. There was a lot of negotiating with various studios to get most of the golden age cartoon characters in a Disney movie The film makers found a way to do it in a nice and unforced way.

@@jmhorange I always thought Warner Bros was such a good sport back then to not only allow their characters to appear in a Disney movie, but also their looney toons theme to be used at the end.
